About a month before lockdown I decided I needed proper storage for my bike related stuff, as half of it is upstairs and it's a right faff ferrying it down each time I wanted to ride. As part of the cunning plan, I though I'd get a workbench out of it too. :grinning: So I got supplies in before lockdown, and been working at it on and off, but now one end of the conservatory looks like this ... :)

Still needs bench top and cupboard doors, but guess I've got plenty of time to work on those.

Good work imho solid, clean, and a great storage solution.

Thanks. I wanted the end result to look neat because it's in full view when sat in living room looking out to garden through conservatory. Plus I'm a compulsively neat sorta person anyway :)

There was a reason for that...I just cant remember what it was, the cupboard was in a different place and I seem to remember it was the other way up??

Nice bench. I would top it off with 3/4 plywood hinged in the middle to fold out and fold down legs on the sides. Then when you need additional workspace you could flip the top out. Or you could set up some sort of slide out supports underneath to hold the top up. But either way it looks nice.

The shop next to me sells stoves. His packing boxes are decent quality plywood but normally go in the skip. He was good enough to let me take them, they make a great set of shelves.

I like the packing boxes idea. Looks like you could stack up quite a few and put a bench-top on it.

Here is mine made from a bunch of 2 by 6's and 4 by 4's. The front was real plain, so I hot-glued some spent 12 gauge shells I had from skeet shooting. I took the two drawers off an old cabinet system.
