In the USA, ethanol usage is forced by law. See this from the Department of Energy:
The RFS originated with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and was expanded and extended by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). The RFS requires renewable fuel to be blended into transportation fuel in increasing amounts each year, escalating to 36 billion gallons by 2022. Each renewable fuel category in the RFS program must emit lower levels of greenhouse gases (GHGs) relative to the petroleum fuel it replaces.

Since ethanol is the only commercially available bio-fuel, it's used in great quantities. This is another example of government crony capitalism and market manipulation. The state really has no business setting this kind of standard. To make things worst, the law sets a quantity amount to be used and not percentage. So as gasoline usage decreased over the last few years, refiners were stuck with how to comply. Congress has been jacking around the mandated gallon number each year to satisfy refiners, greens, and the various ethanol producers. Not so much a communist plot, as your standard nanny state big ideas implemented by idiots and mercenary bankers. Its all about money.

LOL....you guys missed my attempted humorous reference quoted from Dr. Strangelove swapping fluoridation with ethanolization. Here is the full quote but I still believe ethanol is the bane to our guzzeline.

"Fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face. Do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? Ice cream, Mandrake? Children's ice cream!...You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works." - Base Commander Jack D. Ripper

Well, I wheeled the bikes out this morning to give the garage a good sorting, also to have a good go over the bikes to work out what needs doing!

had a look around the alarm on Tracey and discovered loads of loose wires, I was going to post a question on the forum but I think I worked out they were for seat etc removal alarm wires, one had 4.5v coming down it.

Doris needs chain and sprockets defo, probably do an engine oil and filter change and fork oil change and maybe the seals too. Wheels need to come off and an extensive spoke clean needs doing!
Tracey just having had the 24,000 done doesn’t really need anything!

Sorry, My libertarian string was pulled and I had to let it play out. At any rate, got Blue out for a blast today. Will probably start riding to work regular this week. Needed to make sure bike was ship-shape. No worries. Seemed a bit cramped since I dislocated my knee, but should get better. And every year it's the same, I am skittish and seem to have forgotten how to ride. Give it a few weeks...

Polished the paintwork and Autosol'd the chrome on Hugh today. And I'm not ashamed to say I sat on him in the garage and made vroom vroom noises... Hope this lockdown ends soon for the sake of the sanity of us all.

Just got my package from Fowlers in the mail. New CPS and gasket. Still trying to get my Scrambler to run. This completes her brand new Ignition, save for the plug wires.Wish me luck!
