Invisible Tank Knee Grip?

It seems a shame to stick anything on the tank and I don't want the rubber pads or clear Eazi-Grip. I've stuck some R&G Tank Traction grips in clear. They're opaque actually and look awful, so they're coming off.

I just want something that is clear, self-adhesive, invisible and just where my knees grip the tank, not some knobbly oversized pad. It seems both my leathers and textiles slide on the tank.

    - Any suggestions?

I've seen a couple of clear silicone gel type strips that are (no longer avaliable) along the right lines and maybe worth a try....

By coincidence, there was a post on FB earlier asking for opinions on the rubber pads, with or without. Most seemed to say without and it was those who grip with their knees who were happy with them.

Still not found any of these clear strips and blobs though.

Here are the photos that were being discussed if anyone is interested.

Check to see if Triumph do a "Paint Protection Kit" for your model. This is clear vinyl and, if applied to good gloss paint, is virtually invisible. If it's Triumph brand then it will be a kit of various, precut shapes and sizes to apply to the tank. The stuff is available commercially

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/slp/car-paint-protection-film/k2x7apzcoquy6qh

and 3M is reputed to be the best

    https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/car-wrapping-uk/paint-protection/

and, I THINK the film in the Triumph film kits is supplied by 3M.

The great advantage of a kit is that all of the pieces are accurately die cut so they fit perfectly and have no "wobbly" edges.

    Good luck with it.

Edit :- IF there is one, it'll look like this :-

    Thanks Adie,
Not sure this will give the grip I'm after. I've found something on Demon Tweeks' website called "Bike-It Spot And Strip Protectors" which are similar to the pictures above. If they're no good, I might try the protection film you suggested as it will be invisible and probably less slippy than a polished tank.

Pleasure - hope you find what you want/need. The vinyl film is, surprisingly, quite "grippy" - especially if you wear leathers - though it's never going to be quite as grippy as something designed specifically for that purpose rather than for protection.
