I had a Yamaha xj600 diversion... half faired... weird greeny/blue colour. I got it cheap as a commuter, once i’d fixed the electrics and the fairing, it ran straight and true... but it was sooo bland, it was like eating porridge with no sugar or flavourings.
I’ve come to the conclusion most four cylinder hondas from the 70’s and eighties are bland. In fact just any in-line four cylinder bike I find are soulless but I’m sure I’ll get flack for saying it!! The last big four cylinder I bought 10yrs ago to remind me was a cb1300. It was so smooth I couldn’t even remember the ride sensations.....
Kwaka GPZ 600 R. I traded my best bike ever Kwaka KR1 in for it. Thought compared to 250 stroker it would go lie a rocket. A week later I wanted my KR1 back but shop had sold it. The 600 was a pile of shite
Harley's 100th anniversary v-rod for me, It was horrific, but don't hate me..... the most crap bike I've owned so far was my speed triple rs, gearbox problem after problem, then finally the fuel line breaking the day after my gearbox had it's final fix I swear I felt like giving it a faulty towers dam good thrashing. but on a lighter note I made good friends with a few people at my dealers through it so all's good.
Honda CB250G5. At 70 ont motorway, I had to change down from 6th to 5th at t'merest hint of an incline, or headwind!! Can't understand why they'd put a 6 speed box in an already gutless bike!

I had the KR1S and in the best colours, green white and blue. A friend had a GPZ600 and he couldnt keep up Really regret selling that one.
Thats what I found. The KR1 was razor sharp handling and braking,. When it hit the power band it felt like donkey giving you a kick up the arse. GPZ felt like a whale in comparison
A Suzuki GS250T custom looking thing. Dog slow but it did me as a commuter for a bit. I followed that with a Honda CX500 Eurosport. An excellent bike as you could go flat out everywhere with it! Plus it had some handling which improved when Hagon used my bike to develop a shock for it. I had a Yam 600 Divvie after that - that was booooring but did for a while.
I had a 1974 Honda CB350 K4 twin. It was actually 325cc as I recall and it would've struggled to rip the skin off a rice pudding. Its one saving grace was the engine sounded quite nice, but it was all downhill after that. The irony is there are import specialists bring them in from the States currently and asking £2 - £3k for them in rough condition...wtf!
I like boring. I used to own a Yamaha XS250. Dull but reliable and that is what I was after, after a year with an unreliable 2 stroke
A few Superdreams appearing above, but I liked mine - did me for courier work in London and even took me two up to festivals back when I was young enough to be able to sleep in a tent with no air bed! First bike was a YB100, which was amusing as the girlfriend had to get off and run up if we came to a steep hill. But only had it 6 weeks to get me through my test and then sold it to get a Guzzi V50 - which I loved. Worse bike for me has got to be a VT500 I was supplied with for courier work on one contract back in the mid 80s. - don't know if it was the aftermarket fairing and luggage, but it handled terribly and we never managed to get the suspension working right on it. A Triumph Tiger I owned back then was also a nightmare - and led to me having a proper Basil Fawlty moment once when it wouldn't start (again) in the rain - I dropped it on its side and repeatedly kicked it until my girlfriend's laughter made me realise how ridiculous this looked! Guy I bought it off, who liked tinkering and regarded non-starting as 'character' happily had it back off me for what I'd originally paid. DS
my 1st road bike was Honda cj250t. it was shit compared to the mx bikes I had been riding for the previous 3 yrs, but it meant I could ride on the road so I loved it as it was a way quicker means of transport to my girlfriends house than a pushbike
I so wanted to just drop my RD250 on its side and jump on it whilst pushing it home one day. That thing spent 90% of its time only working on one cylinder. It should’ve been a rocket machine but instead it was barely a sparkler.
