Yep....a good guy all round. He actually used my cruddy black plastic speed/rev counter covers as a template to making the stainless steel ones he sells on his web site..if you look he uses with my permission of course some photos I sent him of the finished covers... Ah, fame at last, my picture gone public & for once not on a wanted poste!

The question going through my mind is,can other road users see them easily? If they can't you might be in trouble and your insurer has the perfect excuse to refuse a payout.

I don't mean to sound like a grumpy old git and I like customising my bikes, but I don't want to give anyone an excuse to give the classic "I didn't see you" response.

Well, it`s funny you should say that thebiglad......they were very, very expensive £180)!!!! yes not a misprint, I fitted them & to be honest i whole heartedly agree with you. Because of their size they are not the brightest Ive ever used or seen..... so, I emailed the company (D&O Cafe Racers) & said just that to them. After a slow response from them, all`s they said was that they fit them to all their custom bikes & they have never had any trouble, but I think they are dangerous on the road. they are not "e" marked at all & will prove questionable @ MOT time.
I will continue to email the company but I`m not holding out much hope of getting my money back.
A shame really as they are very discreet but just not bright enough & after spending £180 on them they should in my mind at least be both functional & discreet at the same time. But that`s the joys of buying stuff off the internet....Not!

Shame because they look the part - I fitted British Customs ones to the Bonnie (no where near as expensive but still looked cool). Not very visible though - (as pointed out to me by thebiglad when he was following me to Bishops Waltham!).

Ha ha - that could be your new profile name! Seriously though, you have a valid point and I changed the bulbs in mine to make them brighter.

If Im being honest although I cannot prove, I think they have been adapted from LED number plate bolts....they look exactly the same, but just with a amber light set/chip in them. Well, I`ve packaged them up today after a nightmare trying to get them off the bike undamaged, so only time will tell if I get my money back, but I seriously think they are "unfit for purpose" for safe road use & as Indicator overlord (AKA thebiglad) says....He`s only got his biker friends at heart & that`s a nice quality from someone i`ve never met....don`t you think?

Well, I`m certainly up for a meet at the Ace.....Trouble is my thruxton wont start if it can even smell road salt let alone see it!!!!! + she is in a few bits at the moment whilst I sort out the indicators, (which should be soon as a very good mate has made me some on his lathe & they look the muts nuts), but hopefully, all will be well by spring....Ive also got a secondary AI kit to put on + K&N filter & possibly a pretech 6 pot caliper if I can get it made as I want it...Oh yes + 2 new tyres + EBC (with gold inset) front rotor too, so you may have to buy the tea as Im officially skint now.:( & if your all wondering why Im spending a bit on the old girl.....Its so I dont sell her & get a 1200R!!!!!BUT........
    Come spring tho................................
Tea @ the Ace sounds well.......Ace crispey:)
