As you realized, I am very upset, not mentioning angry. About your comments. Yes, this bike is assembled in Brazil and most parts come from abroad like one of these with problems that is manufactured by BOAMAX (this company is not present in Brazil). The FINISHER, THROTTLE BODY, RH, part number T2205084. I bet that only plastic parts are made here as part of the OEM program at Zona Franca de Manaus (tax free zone in middle of Amazon Forest). About the damp problem, it is not applied for two reasons: 1) Could never happen in a two week years old bike and 2) I am using this same procedure to cover my bikes for more than 15 years with Japanese bikes with no problem. And I am writing on daily basis to Triumph Customer Service copying the Dealer´s manager. And thinking that I was about to buy a Kawasaki Z900 when I heard the Triumphs´s "Mermaid´s Song", if make any sense to you guys. Well, said that, today I discovered something else. Related with front brakes and rear wheel. Take a look. I really pissed.

    Look the disc bolts

And now, the dent on read wheel. Possibly assembling problem not verified by quality control

Well, very, very pissed. I will keek you all posted on the developments.

Not trying to be the devil's advocate here, but with that much obvious corrosion/wheel damage, you should have refused the bike at time of purchase. Unless, of course it was bought sight-unseen, then it's Caveat Emptor, buyer beware

I would be livid. The sad part now is you have already parted with your money. I’m sure you wish you could get a refund. Easier said than done I know. Let’s give your dealer a chance to make this right, I sincerely hope they do for your sake. Most difficult now with the damn lock down in the way but be patient.

I just bought a new car a month ago, a Golf VII 1.0 Tsi. After having lived with the car for just over a week I contacted the dealer to complain about a constant judder/vibration on the clutch pedal. After visiting them 3 times to get the car booked in plus having to leave it there for 3 days I get a call to say nothing is wrong and that they all do it and that it’s normal for a 3 cylinder - really ??? WTF The polo courtesy car they gave me is not doing it and it’s also a 3 cylinder. Now because they say its normal I must live with it. The car doesn’t do it when its cold only when warmed up i.e oil temp around 94 degrees celsius. Very unpleasant to live with and honestly I cant see myself owning this one for long.

    Just a thought.
I bought a brand new bike directly on an official authorized dealer. Took an overall look. None of these problems jumped on my sight. Those obvious problems on aluminum parts I am sure they were not there. If they were, I would not get the bike.

Now, about the bolts on disc brakes, I did not look at them. And about the dent on the rear wheel? I did not look at that too. I just found when I as cleaning it. How can you imagine buying a new brand new bike with corrosion and other problems? They were simply not there. The problem is related with low quality material.

Also, there are other not visible problems even mentioned in other threads in this forum that are high heat from the bike´s engine and squeaky brake.

I am buying brand new bikes over 30 years and never went through all and every details as I would buying a second hand bike with unknown history. As I mentioned, all my bike bikes were Japanese so far and 100% perfect from the Day 1 until sold.

You are right. Very difficult. But let me share something that happened with me here in Brazil. I bought a brand new Refrigerator from Electrolux. It got a problem not freezing. The refrigerator had to be moved to the maintenance office. The changed the motor say the origin of the problem was failure in the energy supply. Plus they damaged the body of the refrigerator. I asked to fix the body and asked a detailed report of the problem so I could claim the fixing cost over the electricity company. None of both happened. Some other problems during the process. Keeping a long story short, I discovered the name and email of the Electrolux´s President in Brazil as well as Marketing Director, Sales Director, HR Director and some other. I sent a detailed letter to them. In less than a day I was contacted back from someone informing the got a mission from the President to remove my refrigerator and provide me with an upgrade of new brand new on. So, that is what I am going to do with Triumph in Brazil. I am retired and have plenty of time. This will be my next spare time project it the problems are not fixed peaceful.

That bike has been uncared in a cold damp warehouse for along time by the looks of it before it’s come to the showroom

Either way, I would email your photos and story to
    [email protected]
saying you understand your issue is with Triumph Brazil but that they have an issue with the quality control of their subsidiary of which they need to be aware.

Great idea. Thanks for the info. As soon as I am able to do proceed with the first service and depending the result, I will certainly write to the after sale copying the Brazilian factory

That is certainly a very possible root cause. As this was manufactured sometime in 2019 and I just bought it March-2020. As a matter of fact, the FINISHER, THROTTLE BODY, RH, part number T2205084, that I took out to try to clean, was manufactured on May-2019. So, this bike was ready to go between June and December of 2019.

But we have something like it in Brazil. Still waiting the end of the lock down to pay a visit at the dealer to discuss the problems.

I think Triumph have started dropping the ball with their quality control. This simply should not happen. I rode my new Honda through days of torrential rain during a touring holiday and after cleaning upon my return couldn't find a single bit of rust or deterioration and it looked like it had never left the show room. I've had three new Triumph twins it's doubtful I'll get another for anything other than sunny day use. Really hope you get this sorted.

Well, I just got the bike from the first service. 1) About the wheel, they just exchange with no complain. 2) About the discs, they cleaned an about the brake squeal ( I do not know if I mentioned it here), it stopped. ) 3) About the corrosion parts, the reseller sent a request to the factory clamming warranty. Funny is that thy showed me another bike exactly like mine with much more millage over it, with no corrosion. So, something specific to my bike. Now it is a matter to wait the answer from the factory. And one more thing: What a hell of an expensive cost for the first service for something you can do at home. I only did that to keep my bike under warranty. But after one full year, if I have no problem, I will skip the ONE YEAR revision and I will do it at home, and consequently loosing the second year warranty. As soon as I get the answer about the corrosion, I will post it here.

You are right. I will think about it. It is worth pay for the second service to have an extra year of warranty.

As promised, here is the end story of the novel. After several emails exchange with the factory and the reseller, and my first service, I got a call from the
authorized dealer informing me the warranty was denied on those corrosion parts. They said the problema was not of them but instead was of the factory that claimed the parts are manufactured around the world and they cannot provide warranty!!!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!??????? Can anyone image it? So, instantly I wrote a long note with all the details and timeline, in English and Portuguese. I sent this note to the General Manger in Brazil and in England, copying the after sales in Brazil and in UK and in USA, copying also the CFO and other managers in UK. Got all the names in Internet and in LinkedIn. Also opened a case on RECLAME AQUI ( something like COMPLAIN HERE ) ( https://www.reclameaqui.com.br/triu...nao-quer-trocar-em-garantia_YAiPxXQhzZCHdoFV/ ) and
finally I put a note into the Triumph´s facebook informing them that would be easier to access the link of RECLAME AQUI. Well, all in all, I got a call in less than 24 hours informing me that they would change the parts in a gesture of exception as I am a good customer....The only problem is the timing because the quarantine...The story is a little longer as I pushed HOW COULD A PRODUCT with only 8 days in use and 560km on the odometer have such a corrosion.......And today I was invited to the dealer to a conversation in how can could support me more on my Speed Twin......Botton line....Push, Push, Push with strong evidences and contacting the right personal and making it loud and known to as much people as possible....Good ending...And still loving the bike. Next step, I will DECAT and exchange the pipes. Quarantine regards.
