Hey, @DCS222, here's Mr. Sandi with the PRS story. Yes, I've allowed him in to my forum sanctuary. ;):joy: And just this evening we said, as we sipped cocktails on our back patio, we are FECKIN' going to GMU next year! Nothing like a pandemic to sharpen one's priorities.

    From Mr. Sandi:

Yes, I did get a PRS electric guitar. I did not want to. It is an SE Custom 22 with an ebony top. My instructor is a buddy of Paul Reed Smith and from my local shop Rainbow Guitars he goes back to Baltimore every few months and designs high end custom guitars from their wood library that PRS then makes and ships to Tucson. The model I bought is a special edition one of twenty. It really is an entry level electric guitar and I only bought it because my instructor said that it was time to have an electric guitar and a bargain at that.

I really did not want an electric guitar. A year ago I walked into the shop and asked if it was possible to learn the craft of playing an acoustic guitar without enough talent to play the radio. The guy who became my instructor replied that if I agreed to give him twenty minutes a day then he would teach me and that I only needed talent if I wanted to be a professional. I certainly did not. I just thought that it would be cool to play House of the Rising Sun and a couple of old blind guy on a Mississippi porch with a dog blues songs. Now I can indeed play a little. I traded in my Taylor Academy 12 for a sweet 312ce and got the PRS because one day I just had to play Rumble by Link Wray. Loudly. On distortion mode. I cannot explain it but it just had to happen. The PRS 513 is now a vintage classic. Good for you. Next year at the GMU we can meet and play a bit.

nice one Mr Sandi... Great choice of guitars. I’m entirely self taught, so I know all the bad habits! I’ve concentrated more on the electric and play rhythm in a band, so I can riff and strum a bit... but my lead playing always sounds stilted compared to how I want it to sound, so consequently I’ve not pursued that avenue. My fingerstyle could use a bit of polish too, I’ve kinda stuck myself with about 3 basic patterns... but breaking that habit has been put in the back burner for all the millions of other jobs I’ve set myself!

There’s a press conference over here this evening at 7pm announcing a possible further extension of the lockdown. It’s pretty much certain there will be one, but for how long yet we don’t know. I’ll keep you posted

Ok I’ve started. Told the neighbors to leave the country. Got it tuned up pretty quickly. Half an hour practicing and my first finger is a bit sore. Oh well little by little.

come on now @Dozers Dad we just need a drummer. (And some talent)

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin......

People buy bedding plants in April, May and June to plant out and enjoy in flower. An annual plant that has already flowered is unsaleable and therefore nil value depriving the grower of vital revenue. With no return in prospect why continue to nurture them at all - throwing good money after bad?

A second hand car will still have value even with market fluctuations.

Here’s the latest from the Netherlands.

Special measures to stop the spread of coronavirus in the Netherlands are to be extended until April 28 at least, prime minister Mark Rutte told a press conference on Monday. This means cafes, restaurants, museums and schools will remain shut for the next four weeks. The decision has been taken on the basis of expert advice, the prime minister said. ‘We realise we are asking a lot of people, but it is really necessary,’ Rutte said. ‘The capacity in hospitals and intensive care units leaves us with no other choice.’ ‘The good news is that we don’t have to bring in extra measures,’ the prime minister said. Schools In effect, the measure means that schools will be closed until May 3, because the May school holidays start on April 25. Parents considering booking a holiday during the Easter or May break should not do so, the prime minister said. ‘There is a very real chance that we will have to extend the measures past April 28,’ Rutte said. Intensive care Health minister Hugo de Jonge told the press conference that the Netherlands will have increased capacity at IC units to 2,400 by next Sunday. He also announced plans to start testing healthcare workers who are not directly involved in treating coronavirus for the disease. More labs, longer days and utilising private sector sources will enable four times as many tests to be carried out, De Jonge said. Asked why the Netherlands was not expanding its test capacity even further, De Jonge said it should be possible to head towards 29,000 tests a day. Experts have advised to focus first on other healthcare workers, he said. General immunity tests among the general population are a key part of the ‘exit strategy’ to assess who can work, De Jonge said. ‘We have asked for recommendations and we will take a decision about using the immunity tests next week,’ De Jonge said.

Just got back from the supermarket.

Toilet paper seems to be now off the endangered list. Hoorah!!

For some strange reason flour of any sort has now become rarer than rocking horse poo. There’s plenty of bread around of all types, so why suddenly are people stocking up on flour??. Bread making, plain and self raising not available. You would imagine the air outside to be full of the aromas of fresh baked bread, cakes and scones of all types. But no. So what are the idiots doing with it all. Any ideas??

Everything else seemed to be available. You can’t use cash but that’s fine I never do anyway. Use of the self scanning devices are highly recommended, again I use them anyway.

So now I’m back home it’s back to my bass lessons and sore finger tips.

It’s mental anyway, because it doesn’t last that long. Three or four months max I would think And bread has always been available since this nonsense all started
