Yes Bad Billy just seen it on the news. I'm devastated I've been looking forward to this since last year. Now we've got the faff of either getting our money back from ferry, campsites, hotels, or letting it roll till next year..

Fuck me. Not the TT too.

Here in Seattle the streets are quiet and there’s so few sports on tv that I’m now a fan of the Mexican league football team “Club America.”

One of the places you can best social distance is on the seat of a motorbike, so I guess small favors.

The Southern100 Pre TT Classic Races and Post TT Races are also cancelled which is hardly surprising after yesterday’s announcement about the TT.

There’s no decision yet about the Southern100 International Races which are held in July.

I am fully expecting our first round of the NG Racing season due at Pembrey to be called off, they haven't taken the payment yet with test day only 10 days away. :(
Yet when you read the document that the government is using to decide policy on the virus at the bottom of page 8 it seems to say banning mass gatherings would have little effect, makes you wonder how much of this is driven by the media whipping folks up into a frenzy?

Bemsee Racing have just released below statement regarding racing events this season! I fully expect my club, NG Racing to follow suit shortly :tired_face:

We are sad to advise that in view of the recent government advice and the decisions taken by the joint councils of ACU, Motorsport UK and others today we have no alternative but to declare our Silverstone round cancelled.

The Bemsee Board was about to make the same decision before the decisions of our governing bodies overtook us. It is not possible to morally defend running a race meeting and potentially taking NHS resource away from dealing with the virus.

The cancellation of events will affect a number of our forthcoming rounds. It is too early to say when we may be in a position to resume racing.
Of course no entry fee money has been taken for Silverstone at this stage.

We will be liaising with the circuit owners with regard to circuit hire fees that have been paid in advance and we will keep our membership informed of the outcome of those discussions.

We wish you all well, please stay safe and let's look forward to the day that the Chequered Flag flies again.

    And another release cancelling this weekends Wirral club meeting;

    WIRRAL 100 – 21st / 22nd MARCH MEETING AT ANGLESEY CANCELLED

Last week we confirmed that the Club’s upcoming two-day race meeting at Anglesey, including the one-day New Riders’ Course, would go ahead, unless Government guidelines over Coronavirus changed significantly this week.

Yesterday (16th March) those guidelines did change significantly particularly with the publication of this statement: ‘Avoid social contact with others and non-essential travel’. It cannot be denied that race meetings obviously do involve social contact and non-essential travel, and whilst there is a legal / insurance argument that the guidelines may not be strictly ‘law’, we all know that the medical situation is very serious and the UK is entering a lock-down situation. Our sincere hope is that the virus is significantly contained.

We have consulted with the Anglesey Circuit and with the ACU, and taken into account the duty of care we have for the paddock community at large, our officials and marshals, the medics, the circuit staff, the spectators and not least, the local community, including the hospital at Bangor.

We have also taken into account the number of withdrawals we have had from riders, officials and marshals since the Government’s statement.

So very sadly, the decision has been taken to cancel the meeting.

All entry fees will be returned, and we would ask those, who are due refunds, to email their bank details (name of account, sort code & account number) to the following email address: [email protected]

Obviously this is very disappointing for the Circuit, the Club and its riders, marshals and officials, who have put in so much work to organise the event. We plan to be back as soon as possible. Thank you.
