Well, now that I've been well enough to start being social again along with going back to work a few weeks ago, things around here are shutting down due to COVID-19. The school where I work is closing this coming Wednesday afternoon. The kids will receive instruction via computer as best the faculty can muster. We don't yet know just how this will play out and are building the plane as we fly it. I'm hopeful that I'm not effectively "laid off" because I need my paychecks to pay for my stinkin' bicycle accident-related bills. Most of the school districts around Tucson are on spring break this coming week but word on the street is that they'll shut down after that.

And just as I'm ready to get out into the world again, many of the social plans we had are being cancelled--concerts, motorcycle events, etc. Mr. Sandi and I had plans to be heading to Cozumel today, in fact, to scuba dive this coming week. We cancelled that due to my bicycle accident but now it turns out we likely have cancelled anyway. When the NBA and Disneyland shut down, you know it's serious. Yikes.

We are on a house/dog sit in Cardiff at the moment. Supposed to be here all week but now not happening. Owner flew to Madrid yesterday and now has to come back tomorrow otherwise at risk of being stuck there.
Upcoming house sits in Dorset and Brighton also cancelled for same reason. On a positive note, just been to the local Spar in Llandaff and it's full of bog roll. Clearly the Welsh are better behaved! :p

Ok, between physical therapy and work being in the midst of figuring out what to do related to COVID-19, I've missed something critical here on the forum. What, pray tell, is bog roll??!!

France has just announced that all cafes, bars, restaurants, nightclubs and cinemas and non essential shops are to be closed from midnight until further notice. :(

Bog is British slang for a toilet, as in 'going to the bog', 'sitting on the bog', etc. Two nations divided by a common language. (Very common language in some cases!)

And it only goes to show that you’d have to pay me to come to that neck of the woods!!
On another note, although I’d gone past my cancellation date I phoned the pub and they said they wouldn’t charge me due to the circumstances!

You'll be wearing a mask (neck tube), helmet and gloves. Being alone on a motorcycle is the most self isolating thing you can do!
