Not sure which section to put speed twin stuff in, I thought the speed twin was nearer to the Thruxton, can administration help to define where we put speed twin stuff. 20200307_135525.jpg 20200307_135511.jpg 20200307_135605-1.jpg

Love the side panels and what seat is that? Looks a bit like a chopped down Corbin?

    Hi Tim
I wondered if anyone would say anything about the seat. It is the one that comes with the bike. I extended it at the back by around 50 mm . Then aquired the Cobin measurements, (other seat manufacturer's are available ) then passed all details to Devon Disability services in Marsh Barton Exeter, who employ only disabled people and Mariner who is deaf but has been doing bike seat's for 25 years so knows a bit, sorted us out with a very comfortable Cobin type seat for around £ 170.00. Wife happy, everyone happy bargin.

Pottsy, thanks for the info. The only thing I don't like about the Corbin is the height of the pillion compared to the riders. Yours has enough bump so you don't go flying off the back but not so much that is looks like a step. Like anything else the Corbin looks more out of place in pictures then in seeing in person but I have contemplated having the pillion trimmed down 1/2" or so.

I didn't use any red in my seat but the grey seat areas and piping are very close to the grey striping on the tank. Have you thought about black "carb" covers? I think the silver ones distract from the flow from black engine. Black "carb" covers on your bike would look awesome.

Yes only came up 3 inches on pillion instead of four on corbin specs, which seems to have worked well. Ya might do carb covers, as I polished badges and heel pl

    Try again
That should have finished with heel plates. Did not go much on the brushed ally finish , to me it's like they used a bit of 40 grit to give the finish , and has finishing is my job I spose I am a bit of a fuss ass.

Did side panels in work , pin stripe ended up being a right ball ack, but pleased with finish. Triumph now have a good red , so I wanted it on more than just the tank. R S bike paints were really helpful, they say that they can get most colours back to I think it was 1909.

Great looking bike! Where did you get the backrest from? I've been looking for one that works with the US version taillights

OK so the back rest is home made, that said it started out as a Thruxton grab rail. So you make use of the mounting points to the shocks and rear sub frame under the seat, chop off at equal points then extend to fit. Mine goes back further than the reach of the normal grab rail as I took the stock seat and extended it by about 50 mm. If you know someone who welds then a few beers should sort it for you, then rub down and ideally get it powder coated.
