Beautiful photos, @Adie P. I really admire David Muench's photography, too, and I've been a subscriber of Arizona Highways for a long time now.

Even though I live in the Sonoran Desert, it never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes it's a bit brutish in the summer when the temps top 110ºF but there's always beauty to be seen all around. I moved to Tucson from southern California and was from Minnesota prior to that. When I first moved to the desert (in June no less), I thought I'd moved to hell. But in less than a year my perspective changed. My vision changed. Rather than see "just" rocks and scrub and cacti I saw the incredible beauty of the Sonoran Desert. And you're right about the saguaros being part of that iconic western image. And saguaros are only found naturally in the Sonoran Desert. I've now lived in Tucson for just shy of 30 years and really can't imagine living anywhere else.

Thanks for sharing more photos of these amazing cacti and the beautiful sunsets we get here in the desert.

Those massive yachts are built in a tiny village in Friesland, and have to be taken out to sea by means of towboats. Quite impressive, really.
