Very nice. Really do wish I had gone TFC.
Are the black headlight surrounds carbon or plain black?
    Thanks

They're plain black @SleepyOwl I think the carbon is 'just' on the front mudgaurd, the exhaust headers, exhaust, tank strip and those little funny things by the footpegs (which presumably keep your heels away from the engine).

To be honest, it looks amazing, but then so does the standard version! The only stuff you get with the TFC is the carbon (and paint job), the TPMS (which you can get), the quick shifter (which I recommend you get!), and a number :D

I was slightly disappointed after seeing a vid on youtube of someone dynoing the R and TFC after one another, and seeing the TFC perform only marginally better than the R. So broadly, you're not missing anything other than some styling tweaks, and an increased theft risk!

I’m glad you said this mate :) as it makes me feel less guilty for thinking it
The TFC is an absolutely stunning looking bike
But so are the GT and the R:cool:
I just don’t think IMHO that the TFC is 5k better than the other two
Maybe in the distant future the TFC will become a valuable thing :grinning:
But it certainly wouldn’t be hard to fake an R into a bloody good lookalike

I have to be honest, I was so close to ditching the TFC and just getting a GT. I was shocked that a £25k bike didn't come with the bluetooth and heated grips, that's quite frankly an embarrassment, and Triumph should be ashamed - ESPECIALLY since the GT comes with the grips (and bluetooth?).

But not just that, with the Thruxton TFC, you get more than just carbon and a tune, you also got uprated brakes and suspension and a bodykit. The TFC has none of that over the standard version. I think the argument is that the V&H exhaust is worth £2-3k (which I don't believe), and sure, hopefully it'll hold it's value a bit better, but who knows.

The GT has the heated grips but the bluetooth was extra. I agree though, the TFC should surely have come with everything on it

Don't for one second think I'm being a knobber here mate cos I'm truly not.

The reason I now own a r3 is because of how poor there quickshifters are! It's just asking for trouble if used, especially on a bike that doesn't rev beyond 7000 rpm.

Hah, no offence taken, but what's your deal with them? I was unsure what to expect, and thought I might not even use it (I'm used to heel-toe'ing on my Commander!). But it turns out, it's actually great (imho), and when you're going from stationary to 100mph in about 5 seconds ... it's nice to be able to hold on with both hands all the way :imp:

It's only a short matter of time until carbon goodies are out and then you can have all sorts of fun getting skint!!!
£5k is a lot of carbon!

I've found a guy, who's willing to mould and form me a carbon fibre rear spray guard for the TFC (it isn't and should be carbon already IMHO).

He asked about the bike, and how popular it is etc ... I think he might be keen to mould other parts and make a whole carbon get-up for non-TFC owners. It's proving a popular bike, so he might stand to make some decent wonga.

I'll let you know how my piece turns out, and pass on details to anyone interested.
