Just to prove us southerners arnt a bunch of jessies, I picked up my new bike today from Fowlers Bristol with comfort seat for the memsaab. Sunshine, hail, rain, wind and general chilliness didn't put us off and me and the boy on his Jap bike went for a blast to W.S.M. for afternoon tea and cake then home to Clevedon. Cracking bike and handles like a dream. Out with the good lady tomorrow.

Any tips on how to remove the orange reflectors on the forks without causing damage?
ABS, traction control, couple of different ride modes, fuel gauge but I am buggered if i can find the kick starter thingy. :)

I just warmed the reflectors up with a hair dryer and peeled them off.

Nice bike, MarkyMarkThree! Glad you made it home in the bad weather.

I've removed reflectors successfully by initially doing what @TillyB recommended but following that up with some strong fishing line and sort of gently putting the line between the fork and reflector and gently "sawing" the reflector off. Then I removed most of the leftover "ogg" with my hand and finish it off with something like Goo Gone. Oh, and be patient!! Slow and steady gets the job done with minimal swearing or scratches.

Get the residual glue off with a natural solvent , Eucalyptus oil is a good or Tea Tree oil :););)

Great stuff... yup cracking bike.. I had an18 plate, one of the original Street Scramblers, but when I test rode the uprated New Street Scrambler I could really tell the difference in power response, (and the front brake!), so changed to one last May. Let us know if your wife was OK being pillion next to the hot pipes.. I managed to slap a few bags on as solo for a few days away last year...looks a bit of a dogs dinner but worth it as I just love the bike... have fun

Thanks guys, I shall put the hot air gun, angle grinder and barbed wire back in the shed then. When she goes out tomorrow I shall sneak her hair drier and flossing stuff into the garage. :)

We have been out on it Monday & Tuesday and its just ear to ear smiles. Mrs is a good pillion and finds the bike dead comfy, we shall see what she says after a long ride. I made her aware of the hot tail pipes and they haven't been a problem so far, I like way it keeps your right leg warm. Weather looks good tomorrow and she is working so I can see a good solo run coming up tomorrow.

    Nice bike.
Reflectors will just pull off as they are new, or as mentioned above a hair dryer will ease them. Spray the residual adhesive on the stanchion with furniture polish, leave it 10 mins and it will literally just wipe off.
