Just read Nikki’s post @BonnieCat and it’s amazing how we’ve connected with each other over the years on here (not BB3lions heh heh). It should be renamed The Triumph Family forum!

Yes but I go on the computer for other things and see remarks like your topic here or Nikki's and can't leave it. We are a big family and we do care in our own ways. Break starts later today.
    Regards
    Joe.

Hi Eric, you are so right on this, we do genuinely care for each other, even if we've never met!!!.

I'm really looking forward to the GMU this year to meet up with old and new friends.

You’re absolutely right Eric, we are a family. There isn’t another forum on the web where people can express their feelings quite like this one and not get slagged off or worse. Long may it continue.
    Group hug now......

This forum really does feel like family! So many great folks "live" here and I appreciate all the laughs, ribbing, information, encouragement, and camaraderie. I'd love to meet everyone (or at least a bunch of you) face to face one day. In fact, Mr. Sandi and I just last night were talking over dinner about making a trip to the UK (and hopefully GMU) not this summer but the next.

Yes, looking at 2021, @Tigcraft. And,, yes, it will be a long trip. But we won't ride, we'll fly. ;) And rent bikes. Any motorcycle rental recommendations? Or trip recommendations in general?

Mr. Sandi and I were ready to pull the trigger on a motorcycle tour around Ireland mainly because he has always believed himself to be Irish. Name, family lore, etc. But after buying me a beautiful coffee table book on Ireland, a Fodor's guide, and a map two Christmas' ago and in anticipation of a trip there, he said one day, "Well, I guess I'd better figure out if I"m really Irish. So he did a six month subscription to Ancestry.com. After hitting dead ends on his dad's side looking at paper trails, ship manifests, birth certs, etc. he decided to do the DNA thing. When the results came back, he learned he's 2% Irish.....and 94% English! So although that shouldn't really change our minds about touring Ireland by motorcycle, now we're more inclined to tour England. And of course we both want to meet some of my forum friends. :)

Mr. Sandi went through my ancestry while he had his subscription and all the family history my parents told me over the years was pretty much dead-on accurate. Out of 26 direct relatives that Mr. Sandi traced back, 24 were from Sweden, one was from Norway, and one from Wales. But still, I find that I don't have a burning desire to ride motorcycles through Sweden. Now Spain, that's high on my bucket list!

Thanks for the book recommendation and also for the good wishes for my bones healing up as well as a MC trip, @BS1948. :)

McCarthy's Bar sounds like a good read. I lived in San Diego for nearly 10 years and now Tucson for nearly 30. Both places have loads of tourists so I think the taking the piss out of tourists part will entertaining as well! ;):joy:

I proposed a teleconference at the GMU for those who cannot attend, and a beer round sponsorship on another thread. DD came back with a Skype idea for the conference.

Err hmm NO! But we all talk the bollox and sit in front of our home windows watching the rain come down will it ever stop!!

@Sandi T. It’s comical The times I’ve been to America most locals have always told me that they are either from Irish or Scottish desendents. It’s like ground hog day!!
