As I only bought my new Explorer in March this will have to wait a bit but shall cast an eye over them at the NEC if they are there.

This is my second Explorer and as I ride solo, push button suspension is a waste of money, as is switchable engine modes, I have had that for 40 years it's called common sense and a right wrist.

Electric screen is a plus having had an FJR in the past.

I'm just a sucker for all gadgets. Though as I only bought my explorer in September I won't be changing it sometime soon.

Hill Start, well I never had a problem starting off on even the steepest hills.

Adjustable screen, I've never had one so I don't know what I'm missing perhaps. But it occurs to me that once you have found the correct setting you just leave it there. like the dishwasher and oven etc.

Active suspension. Possibly useful as I ride solo one day and two up the next. However, I haven't bothered to change the settings manually yet and don't notice any difference in ride comfort. Perhaps if I was riding on the limit I might.

Styling looks much the same to me. So many people mod their bikes it's hard to see a standard one about.

Different throttle maps, well as has been said above, that's what your right hand is for.

That said, if I had waited to buy my Explorer next year I would no doubt go for the top of the range.

Thinking about updating mine - will have to visit Bill Smiths in Chester to check on benefits. So many variants but would want top of range.

I think I'l be having a look as well. Some of the upgrades look interesting.
I like the decent suspension and brakes they've fitted.

Quite like the new KTM(can I say that on here ) 1290 GT BUT! it's £16000  oh well I'll keep buying the lottery tickets.

I have been on the SV forum for over 5 years, haven't owned an SV for the last 2 years!!! In fact as our annual ride-out less than half the attendees turn up on SV's !!!!

What's more important is the friendships and the knowledge base that is retained when members stay on a forum, not what bike they currently ride

I will be riding my America as TEC on next years SV ride :D

Hi Mr Orange, I completely agree with that sentiment.

I took a couple of pictures of the new Explorer at Motorcycle Live today.

The first shows improvements to the screen by the addition of wings presumably to combat buffeting.

The second shows the extended mudguard to help keep the rear spring clean.

It was the base model. The XT I think it's called.
