If you like the Jack Reacher series then you may like the Ben Hope series of books too. This is the first one :cool:

Thanks for that reminder to not beat myself up @Dave C. I think I've reached the point where I'm getting antsy and stir-crazy. :p My bicycle crash was one month ago yesterday and my surgery one month ago tomorrow. I do agree that I will be on the "going forward" track again with my elbow range of motion and need to be patient and steady. I have another PT appointment tomorrow morning so we'll see what my therapist has to say. My understanding is that my orthopedic surgeon doesn't want to really push my elbow hard until five weeks into the healing process. So I'll be at five weeks exactly one week from tomorrow.

I have made progress with my walking. :grinning: Today I walked 20 minutes around the neighborhood and used the cane very little. I was thinking that wasn't much and that I felt pretty sore and hobbly. But when I looked at the log I started just this past Thursday, I only walked 12 minutes that day-- just four days ago.:) And a week ago I could barely walk around the house using a cane at all times. Tomorrow I'll aim for a 25 minute walk outdoors. :cool:And with Mr. Sandi and Annie, the Boxer! That will be delightful. They will just have to slow down a bit (ha..more than a bit) for me.

Very interesting that Lee Child is going to stop writing and that his younger brother will continue the Reacher series. I hope that it stays at least relatively the same as I enjoy that series as is. His most recent book (#24) is "Blue Moon". It came out this past October. I think I finished it around Nov. 2nd. ;)

Thanks for the wishes for a good and positive week! I'll keep you posted. :kissing:

Thanks for the recommendation, @Helmut Visor! I was just saying to Mr. Sandi that I need to find a good book to combat my stir-craziness. I hope and suspect that I can get that series for my Kindle because it's a lot easier to read that way with my left elbow as it currently is. I have one book that I've nearly completed so shall go looking for the Ben Hope series. :grinning:

In 8 weeks here in Arizona it will be hot again.:sun::eek: But if I'm riding again (which I darn well should be!), I won't give a hoot how hot it is! :grinning:

Wessa, what year is your Thruxton R? A 2019? 2020? I suspect you've posted about it but I don't recall seeing. If you have, where? I'd love to see photos! :)

I traded my 2016 Thruxton R for my current Speed Triple. If there was one bike that I've traded that I could have back (without "sacrificing" any of the bikes I have now), it would without a doubt be my Silver Ice Thruxton.

It is a 2019, I bought it in November last year and it has not turned a wheel since. Only got 3 miles on the clock, so when the weather improves I will start the running in... here it is with my new tiger sport..

Thanks for the great photo of your Thruxton R and your Tiger Sport, @Wessa! Both beautiful bikes. :grinning::heart: I do hope you can get out on them soon. Three miles on the clock--wow. I'm sure that little cafe racer is itching to run!

BTW, that green paint job is my second favorite Thruxton color after the color of my 2016. Our local dealership has one in that color on the floor right now. I also had a 2012 Thruxton prior to the R. That was my first Triumph. Here they are...

More "therapy" to get me up and about. Mr. Sandi and I had bought tickets awhile back to see The Book of Mormon at the U of AZ Centennial Hall. It was a stretch for me to get from the parking garage to the theatre and then back again but well worth it. I'm glad I'm on the mend enough that we could go to this play. It was very well done and hilarious. And as "they" say, "Laughter is the best medicine"! The photo of the cast is an image from the internet because no phones or photo-taking is allowed once the show starts.

Nice one Sandi, I had my very first trip to the theatre a couple of weeks back to see Noel Cowards "Blithe spirit, unsure what to expect but it was quite entertaining.
Is that a bottle of w...w...water I see there, no craft beers on offer .
Tell Mr Sandi to keep the tonics coming, they're obviously working wonders :p.

@Dave C, very cool that you went to the theatre for the first time recently! I've not been a lot but always have enjoyed it. There's a series at the place we saw Book of Mormon every year called "Broadway in Tucson". Mr. Sandi and I said that next year we may look into going to several productions.

Yeah, that's a boring old bottle of water. They do serve beer and wine at the theatre and we had a glass of wine in the courtyard prior to the performance. Honestly, it was so much work for me to walk from the parking garage to the theatre that I just wanted a bit of booze of any sort. Then once I made my way into the theatre and up STAIRS  (a first since my crash), I just wanted something that wouldn't make me have to pee before the play was over. Unfortunately that didn't work anyway. And Mr. Sandi didn't check to see what beer was on tap. Next time! And I'm counting on next time not having to worry about navigating my way to the ladies room. :joy: ;)

Lovely couple of pictures @Sandi T. did you trade your 900 for the R? Funny my second choice was the silver, but the green stole my heart...

My wife and I love the theatre. Went to see Curtains at the Liverpool Empire a couple of weeks ago, great murder mystery show; quite funny and the music and dancing was brilliant...

I did trade the 900 for the R, @Wessa! It's a funny story, actually. I was meeting a friend who used to ride a little 1983 Honda Ascot so I chose my "small" bike to ride with her. We planned to meet at a QT gas station. I was there first so gassed up then...click, click, click. Dead as a doornail battery. So I called Progressive Insurance and a guy arrived in 10 minutes to jump start my bike. While waiting, I called my Triumph dealership to inquire about a battery. They said ride on over, we have one, but you'll have to wait while it preps. So off my friend and I went for the five miles to the shop--where my bike promptly died right in front of the service area.

Bruce, the sales guy who still works there came out to see what was up and said, "Hey, Sandi, we have something that just came in that you'll want to test ride for sure." Knowing full well what it was going to be, I told Bruce that I'd read all about the new Thruxton R and that, although I lusted after it, I was not going to go there. He said I might as well just ride it since I was already geared up and that I'd have to wait for my battery to prep anyway. Sigh...

Well, about a half an hour later I relented and off I went on the Silver Ice 2016 Thruxton R (of my dreams). Oops! Mistake. It took me all of about 1/2 mile on the frontage road to be scheming in my head for the rest of the test ride how I was going to swing buying it . Which I did two days later. (Mr. Sandi was used to all this by now by the way.) So that's how I wound up with my Thruxton R. At the time, only the non-R Thruxton had the green paint job. I liked it a lot but really did want the R version of the bike. And I did--and still do--love Triumph's deep, rich silvery-gray paint jobs.

That’s a great story. I had originally test rode the R as part of my test rides before getting the speed twin. Had a few problems with the speed twin, so traded it for the tiger sport. On the day I went to pickup the tiger the green R was in the shop as the managers special with a couple of thousand of the list price. No contest I just had to have it. So I ended up with two new bikes in the same week. As I said to the wife, well you cannot take it with you. lol

Yey to you for your first tackling of stairs since your tumble, another hurdle conquered.
Yes, the theatre was very interesting and I'm sure it'll be the first of more, I'm very keen on watching live bands and took my other half to a gig before Christmas as my son couldn't make so thought it only fair to give it a go, lol.

Thanks, Dave. Yes, navigating the stairs wasn't too bad as long as I had a firm grip on the railing with my good arm and took them with two feet to a step like little kids do. Plus there weren't too many of them. ;) Not very elegant but I'll take it!

Glad you enjoyed the theatre and cool that you're keen on going to see live bands. The theatre for a band--seems like a fair trade! Mr. Sandi and I like to watch live bands too but don't seem to get out to do that very often. However, now that Mr. Sandi is playing the guitar and taking lessons from a guy who play in a local band, we do seem to be getting out to see live music more than we ever have.

Speaking of live bands, for Valentine's Day Mr. Sandi surprised me with tickets to see ZZ Top at the music venue at a local casino. He's seen them several times and I've seen them live once before at the Laughlin River Run. :)

@Wessa, it's awesome that you ended up with two new bikes in the same week! When I get teased about my penchant for purchasing vehicles, I can let them know about the guy who bought two new motorcycles in one week. ;)

"You cannot take it with you"---so true! Good for you for listening to your heart and gut and just going for it, Wessa! Hope your weather cooperates and you can get out on that beautiful Thruxton R soon. :)

Yep weather needs to improve some before the thruxton sees the road... I went out today on the tiger and got very wet, which meant cleaning the bike in the rain before putting it in the garage for a dry down. Things we do eh..

Yeah, you're able to ride but it's raining. I'm not able to ride and it's sunny and warm. Isn't life "interesting"?! ;) Glad you have that Tiger to ride in the rain. You can wait for sunny days to keep your Thruxton dry and pristine. :):sun::cool:
