Looks like 17 were deported and a number stopped from joining the flight. The Prime Minister gets my vote for sending them back to where they come from..... I hope they sort out the legal crap and then deport the rest of them.

Good old bbc... they tell you that it’s the car horn in case you wondered what that unusual sound is?

Usually the steering wheel being in the middle of the road and not on the verge side of the car is enough... unless they imported their own cars

There seem to be those silly flashing signs everywhere warning you of the bleeding obvious, so why can't they put them in locations where they might actually serve some useful purpose...like surrounding foreign military bases?

To be fair I have done this on quite a few occasions. I have lived abroad on and off for my entire career and I found that for the first couple of days after coming back to the UK I was fine as I was actively telling myself to drive on the left, but after that once I'd relaxed a bit more I got into the car and without thinking started on the rhs of the road. Sometimes I realised all by myself but equally sometimes I only realised when some tw@t started driving straight at me (until it occurred to me that I was the tw@t) : unamused:: unamused:
Not excusing it but I do understand it, however what I would never have done is run away from the consequences if the outcome had been anymore than horn beeping and hand gesticulating :mad:

I think it’s absolutely fkn disgusting that the airlines have cancelled flights due to storm Dennis.
I feel sorry for all those affected kids in half term who were flying to their expensive ski resorts.
Bloody disgusting. I hope they get some counselling.

Agree @littleade it is a really simple solution, unfortunately it will never fly because it is so simple......

Sorry to disagree but the penalty won’t cure the mistake. Anyone who has worked overseas will admit that a mix of muscle memory and missing visual cues can draw you into error.

Turning out of a junction, narrow roads and darkness can confuse your ‘safe side’ reflex. In 12+ years in Germany I did it maybe 3 times, usually a couple of weeks after returning when you relax back into new ‘normal’. You normally skip a beat or soil yourself .....that is the best cure. And I even went Continental on one occasion back here......

All is ok until it's someone you love who gets killed. Yes we all make mistakes but we dont "con" the authorities and then do a runner. I don't know how she manages to sleep at night. Let's hope she doesn't.

I dont believe there should be any such thing as Diplomatic Immunity. Why should there be??

Sounds like "an old boys club" relic from days of Empires
