Hi......am pleased to be joining the world of Triumph! I'm Ian, late 40s behaving more like I'm late teens :)

I currently have two bikes, a 25 year old VFR400 which is amazing fun and also a CBR600 which is shortly to be swapped for a 14 plate Sprint GT.

A recent change in my personal circumstances has given me the opportunity to do some longer distance touring and the Sprint GT is ideal. Comfortable, great spec and, importantly, it gets the thumbs up from my better half who will spend time on the back. Rumour has it she will be joining this forum too :)

I'm looking forward to sharing stories, information and hopefully getting to meet some other Triumph owners.

Hi Rebel Ian, and welcome! :)
I had the pleasure of a couple of hours on a Sprint GT demo a few years ago and was well impressed - indeed I was very close to buying one. Good job I didn't though, as less than a year later I was too ill to continue working (HGV driver - DVLA can be really picky about who they let keep their licence ... probably for the best!) and am now north of 65 so paying for it would have been a problem. :( BUM!!!
As for sharing stories and information, the less this lot know the better ... they get giddy and unruly at the drop of a hat and so must be handled carefully! As for meeting any of us?? o_O WELL .................:eek::eek::eek::D

Welcome in IAN, there are still some sensible, serious people on this forum one of which I consider myself, I hope the GT gives you and the missus loads of pleasurable and safe miles.

Hey Ian, welcome lad. I'm after a Sprint too as a second bike for those longer distance things. Caught between an RS or an ST. Sure it will resolve itself in a week or so. Trying to get a dealer to give me a go on an RS atm.

Hi Rich, hope you get to have a go on the RS. The Sprint is great, can't wait to get one and go on a proper ride. #prayforsun

As for munchkin supergal she's apparently going to find the costume so that's rainy days sorted too
