Ooh, that sounds a little harsh. Don't forget some people who have kids have financial problems because one of the parents may have died or done a runner, so there are justifiable exceptions. Also we need people to produce a certain number of kids in this country so that my pension can keep being paid , even though they won't get nearly as good a deal as many of us have!
Having said that, and at the risk of upsetting people, I think having 4,5 or 6+ kids is bonkers, even if you can afford them.

:) . . Yeh matey - don't take me too seriously. I was being a little facetious but the underlying point remains - the world is overpopulated and it is the root cause of many problems. That said, nature has a way of sorting these things out . . .

In principal I'm totally on your side. Too many of us on the planet. Perhaps the corona virus is another of nature's culls..unfortunately I'm heading in that direction next month :(

Am I the only one on here that would promote wave power? it works every day windy or not and even when its dark (solar huh) if it ever stops we are all dead anyway. Everlasting power to produce the hydrogen that is no more dangerous than petrol and only produces water as a pollutant when burnt.
Also it need not be as detrimental to the countryside as acres of solar panels and windmills with their environmentally unfriendly production requirements, concrete, steel, and whatever the windmills and solar panels are made of and what about recycling the infrastructure at the end of its life.

For sure, wave power is just one of a number of options for renewables and over the years, I've seen a number of very interesting documentaries where such devices have been demonstrated. I think the problem stems from the amount of infrastructure needed for a relatively small return and the inevitable complications of off-shore installations. It might happen - who knows.
One project I would like to see developed or at least investigated further, is the possibility of damming the Severn estuary - it won't come cheap but just imagine the energy you would get from something like that!!!

The River Rance in Brittany has been generating power for 45 years and another in North Korea is up and running since 2011 producing 254 Mw and the Rance 240 Mw, every day and night come rain or shine, beat that unreliable solar and wind!
