You are completely right about that, @joe mc donald. But this is the first car I've ever bought without a test drive! :p My girlfriend, Dena, loves her 2016 Mustang GT (black of course) and the consensus of the reviews is positive. And I'm not in a position to drive right now--much less a 6-speed manual! So I decided to go for it knowing they are discounting 2019's to move them and that it might well be gone in six weeks time. I can't imagine I won't love it. Just sitting in it and listening to it yesterday Saturday was a joy. And, yes, I will soon be telling you about my first spin. :grinning:

I knew the Mad Mike video would grab others attention. Congrats Sandy, love your Bullit (have a huge soft spot for Shelby KR500). Enjoy :party::sun:

    In 1978 my mate Rodney offered to sell me his 70 Boss 429 mustang for $3500. I didn't have $3500 for this legendary beast. Test drove it and lit up the rear tires at 80 mph. Probably a good reason I am still here today. {edit it was a 1970 my memory slipped}

    Sandi,

I'm pleased you ain't giving anything up. I've had an accident which has been made worse by surgery. I was holding off posting on a thread I started to introduce myself to this excellent forum.

I had an accident in December, 18th, n the hospital turned me away said collarbone would heal on it's own n I'd get referral to fracture clinic. Long n short neither happened. When doc sent me back they said it wouldn't repair on its own n getting late, just over a month, to operate, the delay adds risk n bone needed rebreaking cos healing wrongly. Shoulder quite badly misshappen.

Sadly, as a result of op have nerve damage n no use of my left arm. Could have happened anyway granted but hospital's response loaded the odds I think. Now hoping to hell I'll get arm back, seeing nerve specialist tomorrow. Sorry didn't mean to hijack yr post with my woes but admire the fact that you ain't compromising n hope, feel inspired, to do same too n get back one day soon, (no cars sorrry ;-), on my beautiful Triumph Sprint GT, 1050cc of loveliness ;-)

    ALEX

Thanks, @MadMrB! I'll have to check out the Shelby KR500. I'm super excited about my new Bullitt and can't (but will have to) wait until I'm able to drive it. Lucky for Mr. Sandi, he will get to drive it for quite some time before I am able to. If it had an automatic transmission, I'd be able to drive it sooner. But if it had an automatic transmission I wouldn't have bought it! I've wanted a car with manual transmission since I started riding motorcycles 10 years ago.My last three cars have been Audi A4's and when I asked the salesmen if they had one with standard transmission they laughed and said that no manufacturers of luxury sedans ships them to the US with standard transmission because everyone wants automatic. I said, "well not quite everyone!" :joy: This is what the gear shifter knob looks like in the Bullitt. It's enough to make me want to take up shooting pool! ;)

I like V8s, but I'm looking the Range Rover version at the mo - 4.4 or 4.2 Supercharged l322. I wouldn't mind a wee go in the Mustang though!

P.s. lpg is half the price of petrol and hydrogen is coming soon (Belfast buses will be powered by hydrogen in about a years time - buses just ordered from Wrightbus!)

    @Tim L
I don't really know anything about the Range Rovers. Would be fun to test drive one sometime. I drove SUVs for a long time before switching back to sedans. Now I'm on to a sports car/muscle car coupe. When I'm healthy enough to drive my new Mustang I'll post a report and some more photos. Let us know if you take the plunge and buy that Range Rover you looking at!

BTW, what do you ride? Since this is a motorcycle forum after all.;):joy:

Just curious as how lpg could possibly be cheaper than than diesel or petrol. Cheaper per gallon maybe but not cheaper for distance traveled or work done. Fact of the matter is what fuel moves any vehicle/load the farthest for the least cost. Hell I can't pedal a bicycle cheaper based on energy (food costs). Are you trying to reinvent a very finely tuned logistic wheel, based solely on unreliable media hype?

Wow Sandi, all these toys, you'd best retire so you can enjoy them all! ;)
Very iconic car is the 'stang , look forward to hearing back when you get your first drive, you are a very lucky girl :D(well apart from the injury inducing bicycle crash that is!) o_O:eek:

I've been running dual fuel cars (petrol/propane) for more than twenty years now - I've had my current car for 14 years - and I must have saved a fairly significant sum in fuel costs over those years. The odometer reading on my current car is 153,600 (and change), and it feels as if it runs as well now as it did when I bought it with 30,000 on it .... albeit it does show some signs of 'lack of urge' up hills, but running on gas means it does have a lower power output.

Apart from the commonly acknowledged fuel cost benefits here in the UK it's also very noticeable - if you do your own servicing - that engine oil remains so much cleaner and for much longer when running largely on propane so, one might assume, the cleaner, less contaminated engine oil does a better job of lubricating and protecting the engine.

Autogas is currently around 64p per litre - I have no idea how that compares to petrol as I only ever pump petrol into my car once or, at most, twice a year. My car automatically starts on petrol and switches over when air and coolant temperatures reach preset limits. In all but the coldest weather the car will switch to propane within a mile or maybe two miles when it's really cold. With modern petrol the danger for me is that it can go 'stale' between my bi-annual 'top-ups' (I tend to put no more than 3 imperial gallons in at a top up) so I keep less than 1 quarter of a (smaller) tank full most of the time.

Automotive LPG is definitely a cheaper running cost per mile fuel than petrol, not sure about diesel.

Thanks, @Bad Billy! Yes, I do know how lucky and blessed I am. But I can't retire just yet to enjoy my toys because I need to work to pay for them! :joy::joy::joy: Fortunately I am able to work part time which gives me time to ride my motorcycles (yes, and bicycle) and now drive the new 'stang. :grinning:

Part of what I love about the Mustang is that it is an iconic car with such history. I love that my dad years ago had a '67 Mustang convertible in Cherry Red. If he were still alive today he would be about as excited about my Bullitt as I am. :) He passed before I started riding motorcycles which he would also love!

Yes, @Bad Billy Billy. I keep hoping for a lottery win too! :grinning: But as the saying goes, "you can't win if you don't play". And I never seem to wind up buying a ticket. There used to be a Powerball billboard near our house that we passed frequently. The current payout amount would be posted and when the amount got quite high, Mr. Sandi and I would buy several tickets. We always had great fun imagining what we would do if we actually won the lottery. Then they took the billboard down a year or two ago and now we don't seem to think of buying tickets. I guess that means my odds of winning the lottery aren't very high.;) Well, 0. :(

    Hi, DD.
There may be a way to play via direct debit in the US but if there is I've not heard of it. I believe that in some states a portion of the profits go to fund were the causes. But it seems that is happening less and less. I used to play the lottery here and there but didn't do so well. Plus I have a bit of a tendency to start gambling a little too much if I get going. Many years ago I lived in the San Francisco Bay area and had a workmate who played the ponies through a bookie. I did that a few times then thought better of it. Now I'm happy to go watch the 8-week winter horse racing series a 5 minute walk from our house at Rillito Downs we watch and take photographs. And when Mr. Sandi and I ride to Las Vegas, I happily spend my "gambling" money on sure things such like excellent food and adult beverages, shows, and (sometimes) great shoes. :)

Now that all said, if the US was like the UK and lottery winnings weren't taxed, I might be more inclined to play the big lotteries like the Powerball. Well, that thought process is sort of silly because if I won $20 million and even if the tax was 75% I'd come away a wealthy woman. I guess it's the principle of the thing. Maybe I can play the UK lottery and have direct withdrawal from my account. ;):joy:

You are a woman of impeccable taste, sooo nice.
I saw where someone just paid 3 million dollars for one and it was like 50 years old, you got a new one for much less, well done!

For the time being I'm driving my new Mustang vicariously by reading reviews and watching YouTube videos from my feckin' wheelchair! :joy: Even when I take delivery, I won't be in a position to drive it for a bit until my elbow and left leg work better. :(: unamused: Definitely a big motivation to do my PT faithfully. Lucky for Mr. Sandi! :):joy::heart: Maybe for me too. He can do the break-in then hand the reins over to me when it's good to go! ;)

This is one of the videos I particularly enjoyed. I posted it here for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

It's official! I am now the proud owner of a Ford Mustang Bullitt in Shadow Black. The dealership sent it out to be clay barred and waxed earlier this week and it came back looking perfect. I'm absolutely thrilled with it. And I will be even happier when I can get behind the wheel and let 'er rip. :grinning: Mr. Sandi took the long way home from the dealership and even as a passenger in the car rides and sounds like a dream. I've never had a car like this one, that's for sure. ;) He's now tucked away safely in the garage making friends with our motorcycles. ;):joy:

Yeah, Mr. Salesman, that gimpy "old lady" with her arm in a sling went and bought that car you showed her a week ago! He knows me better now. ;)
    IMG_7507.jpeg

Mr. Sandi taking the keys while I gawked, grinned, and snapped some pics.:D
    IMG_7492.jpeg

    IMG_7490.jpeg

Mr. Sandi bought his Ford F-150 pick up at the same dealership. He told me they always have great baked goods and went off to find me some. This unbelievably delicious carrot cake is what he brought back along with a nice strong cup of coffee. I might have to bring my car in somewhat regularly for one thing or another. ;) Carrot cake is one of my favorites and this was right up there with some of the best I've had.

    IMG_7499.jpeg

And while he was at it, Mr. Sandi bought me this hat! So now I'm flying the Ford colors once again. I grew up on Fords until I left Minnesota for California after college. Had Hondas for years, one Lexus SUV, then my last series of Audi's. I've come full circle back to Ford. :)
    IMG_7504.jpeg

And off we go with Mr. Sandi manning in the wheel and taking the long way home. The car feels and sounds incredible! I'm looking forward to the day when I'll be able to get behind the wheel myself. Soon..... This is the image that pops up on the screen when you fire this car up.

    IMG_7520.jpeg

Love that white cue ball gearshift nob.
    IMG_7515.jpeg

Of course we forgot (hmmm) our housing development gate clicker and garage door opener in the Audi so (darn!) we had to go back around the block again to retrieve them. Mr. Sandi parked right next to the A4 that I just traded which gave us the opportunity to snap this "goodbye and hello" photo.
    IMG_7519.jpeg

We were both worried about how the Mustang would fit in our garage because it's a few inches longer and a few inches wider than Audi. Turns out it fits perfectly! For some reason it seems to slide right into that garage space even more easily than did the A4. Coincidence? I think not. ;) Now the Bullitt is getting acquainted with our four motorcycles. So far they are getting along famously. Thank goodness. We wouldn't want to have to boot someone out! :joy::joy::joy:

Har-dee-har-har, DD. Nice try! ;) But I already have the soundtrack of that sweet, sweet exhaust note committed to memory and will know instantly if someone other than me starts up my Bullitt! I might even find it in me to dispense with my cane in my hurry to run out to the garage should I hear the car roar to life without my permission. Also, I don't think the break-in period should last for four weeks. Besides, wouldn't you want to test drive it after it's appropriately and sufficiently broken in?! :joy: I should think so. :kissing_heart:
