Haha! Thanks for the info you gave me sir.
Funnily enough, the missus came out and actually said ( I cannot believe this) “that bit of plastic has to go. Get a shiny one”! Holy moly! Permission for a trinket! Getting on the case tomorrow morning when she’s at work. Can’t wait to get out!

Lovely blue sky across Cheshire today, so the tiger came out to play. Lovely ride if not a bit blustery at times. I love winter rides when the sun is shining....

Great first trip with the wife on the Rocket GT. Pretty comfortable for day riding but doubt we would tour more than one night away.
Suspension needs to be set up. Hit quite a few holes in the road and it’s not very forgiving two up. Still loving the bike though.

first test fit of the SATO rear-sets.
Fitment was very easy and the quality of fitments was really evident. I have experimented with some after market folding pegs that need a little bit of fettling, but I think the overall set up looks much better than the originals and the feel of the bike is much better.

The sun was shining, so I took the T120 up to the Steel Horse cafe (near Abergavenny) for a nice cuppa. It was a lovely day, but, Jeez, it was windy - still, it blew away the cobwebs. Which was nice.

Going to ride it, our normal weather for February 2 is 20-30 F. Today it's supposed to hit 70. Yesterday was only forecast at 62, it hit 65 and I was stuck in my car. Another street triple pulled up next to me at a traffic light yesterday, so that's a good omen.

Hi there! Is there a way of heating the rubber up? Possibly boil them so they could fit?

Sprint gauge cluster.JPG Looks like the weather is going to turn cold starting tomorrow. Low about 20°f.. High in the mid 40's. Windy. Time to pull my Sprint in out of the cold and fix it's broken throttle cable. Needs a battery and fresh plugs. May adjust/lube its chain. Looks like I have about a week of cold weather ahead. ...J.D.

I went out for a run up the coast, car had a puncture, so later getting started, than I would have liked. Round the back roads and villages for a couple of hours.
I started on the coast, and when I moved in-land it got cold fast, when I started seeing ice on the puddles I headed home.
    Cold.

Took a drive out to collect an oem exhaust for my XR800. Got home and took the Speed Twin out for a couple of hours around Shropshire. Put the ST away dirty and got on with cleaning the "new" exhaust with Harpic Black bleach, which did an excellent job. Wear gloves and eye protection, just saying. Fitted it all up and away we go, nice and quiet, making the wife very happy. It's what I am here for...………...

Well all the roads around here were well sanded from icy weather last week and poor for riding, so plan B headed south 45 miles to the rural country roads I did a reconosince run in the Crossfire on 12/31. Did the first leg where is was supposed to turn south, and took a short break. While sitting there a couple of bikes came from an alternate route, and then a ktm superduke came up behind me and headed off on the alternate route so I tucked in behind him and watched his lead, through some great corners leading to groose Creek road. Had an awesome time. After running groose Creek road half way the ktm rider took a break an I continued to finish it southbound. I turned around and ran it northbound back to Dexter to refuel, but the town's only petrol pump was broken. Farmer pulls up and offers a fill from his trucks bed mounted farm petrol tank, he pumped a couple of gallons of dyed untaxed farm gas in and I offered $10, and he gave my a $5 he had in his pocket. Headed back towards home via the first leg, stopped for another break and the ktm rider appears again, brief chat about the street triple which he is interested in, and told him this was my 50th year of riding. He congrats on being vertical. About a couple miles later I meet head on with an HD rider who is hogging 2/3 of my lane in a corner he blew. Wonderful warm day in February.

Well, as I had mentioned earlier I had great plans to bring the Sprint in and give it some much needed loving care. Instead I got a call at 1:30am that my new grandson was on the way. Not much sleep last night, so I did not get much done in the shop. I'll try again tomorrow. It is supposed to be 19°f. outside tonight ! ...J.D.

Thanks Duck: The whole family has the serious "motorhead gene". Me. His uncles. His Dad is a.heavy aircraft mechanic. His older brother only 4 is already exhibiting signs of this tendency [freaks out over anything mechanical]. Gota' love them. Little guy is named "Lachlan". I should be able to see him soon.
