    Evening all,

When I took my bike apart, one of the hoses was just kinda laying in there, unattached. I’m guessing that’s not correct.

Can someone tell me if the adapter on the end of the hose is broken or if the receptacle is broken. Is there supposed to be a post on the receptacle? Kinda stuck, tough to remove the reservoir.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

That looks like it snapped off the expansion tank.

    What age is the bike?

Looks like it’s one of the hoses to the expansion tank
It should have a hose barb which pushes into the tank in a rubber grommet. You’ll most likely find the broken off barb still in the side of the tank.

Don't know if I said welcome to the family. So ill do it now welcome. That should be easy enough to fix if you can get the thing as a spare. Do show the inmates the steed. Here in the asylum we do like pictures.

This is my first time doing anything of this magnitude with a bike, so I may ask some silly questions.

I followed the hose back to the radiator cap- so it’s an overflow, right? Does it need to be connected or just set up to drain?

I’m attaching another picture, I think 29, 50 and 24 are the other hose? That hose is firmly attached.

Hmmmm certainly looks like an L shaped connector that has snapped at the elbow.

My brother there are no silly questions on here. Every one helps someone. Your hose is better attached doesn't natter how it fixed as long as it does it's job and isn't getting over spill all over the paint work.
    Regards
    Joe.

I was going to say- Not sharp a bit or have the appearance that it snapped, but waiting for the camera to focus on it.. it snapped.

Pretty sure that's the overflow return to expansion tank, other end will connect to radiator filler neck. If you remove the expansion tank you'll probably find the broken bit rattling around inside. It's item 30 or 50 in the drawing Sprinter posted above, shouldn't need to remorgage the house for a replacement from Triumph.
