I had similar issues on my Speedmaster and eventually traced it to a duff coil, measured fine on resistance but replacement cured the issue. I replaced both coils at £70 a pair on a 12 year old bike seemed like a cheap fix!

Well @dilligaf as you say wiggly amps !! So far today , I have pulled headlight and fuel tank Off ! I have stripped back factory loom in four places , including main loom into main plug into back of headlight , found another broken wire. Fixed it ! But still only right hand indicators were working , brake lights only worked off pedal switch , oh and discovered headlight wasn't working , that repair did nothing , did several re- repairs to old but OK looking previous work ! Still no changes. Then just as I was going to cut my wrists or throat It blew 3 fuses 25 amp 15 amp and 5 amp all at once !!! Replaced fuses and bugger me sideways :);):confused::eek: It appears all may now be good ! I haven't reassembled everything and test run bike But Big But It now appears to be working , well all lights and R/H indicator No longer flashing when ignition is switched on !!! Tomorrow is another day , will reassemble and test  hopefully finger's crossed cheer me on :D .

I don't know what I have done , but hopefully it's working now :eyes:

Yes, thanks @Sandi T. plenty of twisties through forest and hills, as well as coastal views and motorways back for speed.
Magic seafood meals anywhere in Raglin, so fish and chips is a standard (no vinegar or mayonnaise) with tomatoe sauce. Had Heineken light for the first time, nice on a hot day.

Sun is shining, so getting me kit on and going for a ride.....

Edit: 2 hours of fun on very dry roads. Bike is a bit dusty, so will give it a clean tomorrow.

Took the wheels off the Speed Twin to local tyre fitter and had a pair of Road 5s fitted. Cleaned all around the mudguards, swingarm etc. Fitted sat nav bracket to the Tiger 800 while I waited. Collected the wheels and refitted the front. Went round the back to refit the rear and the tyre is on barsackwards. Taking it back tomorrow...…………...

True, lucky I know about tyre rotation innit! Apparently the guy on the counter told him the wheels were off a Honda 650 so chain on the left...………...They will swap it foir me while I wait tomorrow so I'm OK with that.

That's what I was thinking. They've got two chances of working out the right way. Either note direction of rotation marked on sidewall of tyre they're taking off, or look at the arrows inside the hub (my bike has them, don't know if that's universal).

Well , as said in last post . I don't know what I really did right , but the electrickery seems to have vanished and:) gone away :) . I reassembled the bike this morning and did a 40 KLM test ride . No oil leaks from the alternator/ignition pick up housing ;) :) and the ignition and fuel injection ran perfect , performance was better. Will see if it makes for better economy ..
Have refixed a couple of older repairs , and fixed two new wiring harness breaks.

    cheer
Well , yesterday I put capt back together , test rode 40 odd klms and all working ! Not sure exactly what I did that fixed the switching off problems , but it's not doing it now ! Blowing three fuses at once  doesn't inspire confidence o_O I did find and fix a brake in the power return to the ignition/fuel injection , not sure which as it was a multiple wire's junction , all powering up when ignition turned to On ! Two multi coloured wires with blue striping in an similar out , but in differing combination ?? Also re instated the kill switch wiring !
Well oil and filter change today , casing's opened to change the ignition coil pick up , even though I'm pretty sure nothing major dirt wise etc got in , as the Irish would say "To Be Sure" repeat 3× lol

To be honest, that is a little bit of accumulated dirt from two previous outings - just lazy with the washing!

Nah, Ron. I think Scarlett will feel even better about herself with those two in the garage for comparison. ;) And she knows she's the queen bee!
