Jack Up Your Bike, Adjust And Lube On The Road

I’ve a gadget I don’t even need to carry separate, it’s a centre stand!!

 

I use a piece of wood inder the footrest mount... didn't cost anything !

 

Exactly! And what is that old time device that we all used to use, oh yeah, the kick starter!

In my day chain adjustment was done with the weight of the bike on it as there was never going to be negative weight ....unless you enter the TT and chain lube the same with a mate to push the bike forward if you where lucky...and non O ring chains where taken off once very couple of months for a nice bath and fixing a flat at the side of the road was not unheard of.

 

What an excellent looking, simple, efficient and portable product !!!

Mine also...but most of the time they where taken off......weight saving and we needed it.

 

Whats driveshaft??

 

I made one out of a length of alloy tubing with a notch at one end to fit the swing arm bobbin. Also made it so it breaks into two pieces for storage; cut in half with a short piece of sleeve fixed on one piece so they join nicely.

 

That is pretty neat. Sure beats my method of one handedly balancing the weight of the bike on the side stand and trying to spin, spray, spin, spray. It must be hilarious to watch to be fair.

 

Sorry got to admit, there’s no answer to that one!!

 

Jeepster - how safe does it feel when it's up on the stand? I've seen a few videos of it - it looks useful, but I thought it looked a bit fragile.
