First one in this section and very nice. I am assuming the bike is kept off the road whilst all the crap weather is around? Looks too well polished to have seen salty roads.

Yes me and the Mrs have had one or 2 winter rides out but last time I cleaned it I noticed one or 2 fasteners looking a bit oxidised :eek:so both our bikes currently under covers in the garage. The Mrs very nearly bought her Street Triple from Stratstone Leicester (she got on with the sales girl) but in the end we bought from Pidcocks Nottingham.

No problems at all, never had any buffeting, but screens seem to vary from one person to the next. My last bike, an XVS1300 had a screen on & at anything over 60mph the buffeting was so bad me eyeballs rattled! I sorted it by changing to a Davida open face helmet. I continue to wear the Davida 'cos I like it, but I've taken the America for a blast along the A38 wearing my old Shoei without any problems at 90+.

ps are you a member of any of the facebook pages? 'Triumph Bonneville America' or Triumph Cruisers (Going our own way)' lot of useful info & friendly banter.

Just had a look at your pic 'flapinflares' is yours an earlier model than mine? If so, I think the screens will be different, mines a quick release type & I believe is a slightly different size & shape, no reason why you shouldn't get on with it though.

ps. Keep your bike shiny- I do.
pps. every fireman I've ever met is semi retired!

No, the rev counter's not standard on any America/Speedy, I've not got one. Bags, I've found that as I've got older I feel the need to cart around more clutter 'just in case'. Do you want genuine Triumph bags? I don't reckon they're worth the money (even tho I've got 'em), you could have a look at 'Get Geared' or 'Custom Cruisers' of Alfreton, just 20 mins up the road from me, Mike who runs it is a good guy & he's got loads of stuff.

    Hoping for some sunshine soon.

    America at Rutland Water

Here's my America at Rutland Water. Summer 2011 still got the standard (sewing machine) silencers. The tarts handbag next to it is Rays old HD Electraglide.
