2005 Triumph T100 Bonneville


Really nice Bonnie and last of the carburettor models. A lot of time and money has been spent on this bike and it’s had a complete overhaul.

Wheels – de-chromed properly and powdercoated black rims and hubs. New stainless steel spokes and good Michelin tyres

Forks – Progressive springs and Honda CBF brake upgrade added (very popular mod) so bike actually stops now

Lighting – black headlight fitted with black brackets to get rid of the ugly standard Triumph brackets and fitted with really nice Motogadget indicators. Rear frame welded and matching indicators fitted all with the correct relays. Front light fitted with mesh grille and rear light replaced with retro unit.

Handlebars replaced with Renthal tapered bars and risers and fitted with Renthal light grey race grips. Clutch perch replaced with 06 onwards to allow for aftermarket levers (fitted). Rizoma bar end mirror fitted (slight scratch to edge). Koso electronic speedo fitted to clean up bar area.

Frame – frame removed and powdercoated red with shortened rear tail loop (Down&Out) welded and alterations for indicators. Oil cooler removed and oil in frame front frame rails fitted for cleaner look. Shortened seat fitted and re-upholstered (Down&Out). Ignition switch has been relocated to the side frame rail and bash plate fitted between frame rails.

Engine removed and stripped and painted PJ textured black, fully serviced and then rebuilt. Bike was then taken to Bob Farnham after 600 miles from the rebuild and the 790 barrel and pistons were removed and replaced with 865 barrel and pistons. The heads were gas flowed and the air box modded along with re-jetting the carburettor (as only Bob can) and this then leaves you with a Bonnie with 74bhp at the rear wheel and 44 lbft torque and the Dyno sheets to prove it.

Bodywork – all panels removed and front shortened mudguard painted to match engine, rear mudguard in polished aluminium with flexible numberplate. Tank painted in matt black with red stripe and very subtle Triumph badges fitted. Side panels were removed and replaced with sleeker panels (Down&Out)

Exhaust – original exhaust removed and replaced with TEC 2-1 pipe with baffles removed and this was set up and dyno’ed at the same time as the barrel change.

Rear suspension has been changed to Kawasaki ZRX twin shocks with raise the rear slightly and make a big difference to the handling.

New battery has been fitted and Optimate lead attached. There are lots of little stainless steel bits and anodised fittings but there are also a couple weathered original fixings which seems to be standard for Triumph.

This is one of the best Bonnevilles out there and has the added attraction of being the last year of the carburettor bikes. Unlike most of the Bonnies for sale this has been properly customised and not just fitted with lots of bolt on parts from the catalogue. It is very quick and sounds like it should, will leave most of these bolt on bikes for dead.

Bike will have a fresh MOT and has done 1400 miles since it’s rebuild and 800 miles since the engine tune.

Maybe you should do some research before you post.
This is the last of carburetored 790cc Bonnevilles and it clearly says in the advert the clocks have been changed to a KOSO electronic speedo.
This is not being sold as a stock Triumph

 

I am not offended, this bike will not attract someone who wants a standard Bonneville. It was a 790 originally and the speedo has been replaced so it would be better if you corrected the incorrect facts rather than try and correct the facts you have incorrect.

All points relatively constructive, thank you, but I am aware that this is an extremely niche bike. I have only posted this bike for sale on here twice and not really pushed it anywhere but have decided to finally sell this and my Buell.

 

I've bought the replacement for this and it was not the Speed Twin, it was the Ducati Desert Sled

 

Still got the Bonnie. Needs MOT so will do that when the lockdown is over and eBay it.

 

I have had a swap about and will end up with a KTM 1190 Adventure, Street Triple RS and the Desert Sled which covers all bases for me. Tour, track and 'going out for a paper' bike.

 

Bike gone, sadder than I thought.
