It’s still an enjoyable ride Foxy, just keep it to no more than 55, 60 max once past the pub and cos you are slowing to around 40 your average comes back to the 50 required between cameras. Oh, and I erd they are opening’t Pub agean. :p

Disclaimer. If you get done on’t cameras after tekkin mi advice it’s all on thee, ah never sed owt.:worried:

If congestion is the problem, then we bikers need to change our driving habits!!

Triumph and other manufacturers need to build bikes with super headlights and then all the bikers can go night-shift;)

It ain’t just Scotland that usually has a 1 week summer! Pretty much universal to UK.

I agree about the classics, l probably have more fun riding mine than the triple.
Going to take the speedy on the dragon rally next month, about a 600 mile round trip....that will stretch its legs a bit (and cramp mine!)

This echoes my feelings on the subject. I certainly don't need anything larger than a 900, for the same reasons. I am looking hard at a new bike. I fell in love with the Kawasaki Z900RS the first time I saw one. I have been reading reviews for the past few days and have to look hard to find any negative comments. Since I rarely buy anything new, we will see how this plays out!

Tried doing the cat n fiddle a while back at the legal speed limit on the bends and it’s still bloody thrillingly mental trying to corner!! It’s just the straights you need to keep your self occupied!

That is my view as well @Tigcraft .. You need to be a very good rider to maintain 50 mph through the twisties and well as far as the straights go anybody can go fast on them, you just need to stay steady on them.....

I did the Cat & Fiddle in my Ford Puma years ago to go look at a Series III Land Rover (which I bought for £200). On my own so got to play and had a great time. Couple of 'nippy bum' moments, but it was great. Not anymore with the S'cameras in place.

I know you can keep corner speed up, but part of the fun is getting acceleration out of the corner and getting the braking right and loading the front up correctly as you approach the bend.

Dalveen Pass or Wanlockhead road in D&G is just as good, and zero traffic. Took AndyC down there and he couldn't believe how good it was and nobody heard of it, plus resurfaced it recently, like a circuit in parts.

Agree, a mate of mine bought a himalaya and loves it, the only time he is at a disadvantage is when we hit motorways, he struggles to keep up , particularly into a headwind.
He always gets there in the end and usually only a couple of minutes behind the rest of us. Does miles more to the gallon than my triumph as well. I suppose you can't have both performance and economy .

And just as many biker acidents as well. The speed cameras have slowed all traffic types down and killed the trade for the pub. I used to ride this road often, but have only been across there a couple of times in the past few years. It would be great to see the pub open again, but I'm not convinced the biker trafic will return even if it does re-open.
