    Hi,

Thought I'd start a standalone thread for this instead of the 2 separate existing ones.

I have had a positive reply from K-Tech to say they have forwarded on my issue to their engineering team but that they are away until 2nd June. They also said they are sure they can rectify the issue.

I mentioned I know of some Speed Twin owners with the same problem.

    I'll keep you updated.

    Cheers

Just to let you know I have just sent an email to K-Tech and had already sent one the other day to the dealer who fitted them. Hoping this will be resolved quickly and fairly for all injured parties.
Have a brilliant new year everyone!

That's two emails they're going to open tomorrow morning with the same theme!
I'll let you know what kind of reception I get as I'm driving over there in the morning to deliver them a pair of Nitron shocks.

K-Tech have replied and offered to collect the shocks and alter them to provide enough clearance. I think it is how company's deal with issues that mark them out and K-Tech responded really quickly with a no-quibble offer to resolve the issue. Just hope the paintwork is ok, not sure what to do if not, try a repair myself or go back to K-Tech again.

Got replies back from K-Tech who said the same namely they will collect the shocks and modify them to clear. The company that installed them are changing over the shocks to the original ones tomorrow and K-Tech said they will return then ASAP. I will touch up the lugs once the original shocks are in place. The contact is very minimal but of course there needs to be sufficient clearance.

Took the shocks off and can't see any paint damage to worry about, maybe some slight scuffing but not through the paint and you would have to be looking with a torch to notice.

K-Tech have arranged for the shocks to be picked up this afternoon and will be back with me next week. Really hope they sort them out, when I took them off they seem such good quality items and must weigh half as much as the original ones.

Went up to Steve Jordans Motorcycles today and they swapped the K-Techs back to the originals. He has touched up the frame ( I haven't actually looked to see how obvious the damaged was yet) and they will be sending the shocks back in the next day or so. He said that K-Tech are going to be fitting a different top section from another model which will affect the initial overall length which will need adjusting back to standard.

I presume as I never rode mine it never got any knocks through the shocks to chip the paint.

I've emailed K-Tech to request my shocks are set to the standard 1200 S length.

Hopefully all will end well, and credit to K-Tech for a no quibbles fix.

Wonder how many others will never realise though.

SJM said they would try and get in touch with those that had had the fitting done by them.

Got the shocks back on Friday and fitted them today. Loads of clearance now so all sorted.

Hope everyone else gets their shocks fixed as well.

    Cheers

Excellent. I presume any adjust ability for extending the length has gone now?

Yes, they do seem to be adjusted to pretty much the shortest setting, but are the same length as the original Kayabas.
