so, have swapped out my OEM exhausts for arrow slip-ons on my 2011 speedy. What to do with old ones? I see plenty advertised on e-bay, I guess from people who have done the same, but does anyone actually buy them? Can't think why they would.... Seems a shame to just bin them. Any ideas?
If someone drops their bike I guess they might buy them,or you could put the std ones back on when you sell yours and sell the arrows, they can go for up to £500. That's what I did when I just sold my first speedy, the shop said they wouldn't give me any more with the arrows so I took them of, leaves me £500 up on the deal.
Fair point. Thought I'd get more when I do come to sell it with the arrows, but if that's not the case, then I'll find a corner to store them away...
Chances are you won't get more, might sell quicker though,. Some say bikes without mods are more attractive to most buyers. Keep em seems to be the word! Or is the bird the word??
My Thruxton came with Triumph Arrows 2-2 system fitted and a large box with the original set up in. After deciding that I was happy with the Arrows I popped the original system on eBay and got £50 for the lot plus shipping which worked out at around £30 due to the weight. The buyer was delighted as he had been trying for a set for ages but had been struggling with a lot of the asking prices. I was glad to gain the space and pleased that someone felt they had a bargain.

Are the arrows mot friendly ? I have just bought a Thruxton with the triumph "not for road use" silencers on it ... In 12 months time I will need a way of getting it through the mot, so would be the sort of person that bought oem ones

Mine passed it's MOT this year with an un marked(no eu stamp) on it. I went to the MOT guy first to check and he said they can't fail it for the exhaust,they can only put an advisory on it. Mine was marked as "noisy" which I thought was a bit of a cheek as he rides a Harley with bloody loud pipes on.
i know the arrows sound great, but can anyone tell me if there is a noticable differance in power and torque? it's just i'm looking for a s3 at the moment and i'm not sure whether to pay a little more for one that has the arrows fitted
Noticeable? Don't think so. Figures are something like a 3bhp increase. Although I changed mine almost straight away, so couldn't really comment on that. The noise though is much better. Standard sounds ok at high revs, but crap low down. Arrows fix that, plus you get nice pops on the overrun
My local(ish) dealer at Plymouth recon there's virtually no performance gain, but do sound nice. I've just bought a set for my Speed94R but haven't fitted them yet. SWMBO says I've got to keep them till my birthday in July! If you're wondering why I've bought them now it's because I spotted a deal I couldn't resist (browsing ebay, as you do ). Woods in N.Wales have one set left if anyone's interested, £499+£8 postage, bloody sight better than the £1050RRP! They're brand new never been fitted, I'm guessing they were left overs from when Triumph were offering them in bike deals. Dave do you know if you're running the standard map or the Arrow spec map? Also I've read elsewhere that the mpg suffers a bit?
I've kept the standard map. I wasn't bothered about another 3 bhp. I heard that it's the arrows map that affects the mpg. I'll be honest, I don't really pay much attention to mpg though. It's a toy, not a commuter. Heard the popping is a bit less with the arrows map too - another reason not to get it
Yes, that was my main reason for asking! Had a SprintST1050 with the TOR can a while back, the early maps had a nice pop to them, but seemed to lose that in the updates, the throttle response was much smoother though so kept them....made attacking the Stelvio much easier. Very impressed with throttle connection on the Speedy at the moment so don't want to cock that up. I'll probably give the Arrow map a try but going by the numbers it's quite a bit older than the current standard map....so I suspect it won't stay on for long.
Definitely don't bin them, keep them until you're about sell the bike then put them back on. If the new owner wants them then get him to pay for the Arrows in addition or sell them (the Arrows) separately on the Bay.
