After riding, I noticed my T100 is making ticking sounds and a weird metal Clank sound. I don't know to this out while riding only after riding. I had recently clean the chain and lubed it.. is the metal expanding due to heat? I have never heard this sound before. The forum did not allow me to upload a sound file. I can email you the file directly so you can listen to it, thank you for your feedback.

Hi Guillermo, you're not talking about the ticking noise an engine makes during the cool-down after a spirited ride are you?

If you are, this would be perfectly normal?

If it doesn't tick the problem is with the rider, not the bike;)

I get some of the ticking but I get a fairly loud metal clank every 45 seconds or so... I also removed the front sprocket cover and found this bent part. Is this is concern? Is anyone will for me to email directly a wav sound file? I also cleaned and lubed the chain.

It's the retaining lock washer. No concern.

Hi GS, that bent piece is called a "lock washer" and is bent over to ensure the retaining nut does not unscrew itself. It needs to be like that.

Guillermo, what is your chain tension like? Can you pull the chain off the rear sprocket to any degree? I am wondering if you have a bit of chain lash on an ageing chain that is striking the underside of the chain guard. The gearbox sprocket appears to be developing flat valleys rather than the symmetrical U shapes it had when new. The same may be happening on the rear but less pronounced.

I know what he wrote....... but we may be guilty of taking him too literally! I have never known a stationary machine clank! The cooling tinkling is normal enough but a clank needs something moving!

You want to download a sound bite. Put it on you tube then transfer it to the forum.

Check that chain there is no tight spots on there. Also check it is not hitting the brake arm there especially if there is a tight spot chain may be jumping on the sprocket.
    Regards
    Joe.

I agree that's what it look like, but I cleaned everything so there is nothing there. again the Clank occurs after I'm done riding and the bike is cooling....
