1F8B9E25-051D-4840-94EC-32683EEA95FE.jpeg I bought this ‘thing’ and put it on my throttle grip the rode 300 metres to filling station.
Took it off then and put it in my pocket.
It’s not for me, so, if anyone wants one send me a delivery address by PM and I’ll ship it free issue.
    Cheers,Ken.

I've used one of these in the past, they are great on motorways on long rides, but a pain when urban riding. They do take a bit of time to get used to though.

I had one of these dealies on my H-D Road King and put 20K miles on that bike with it on there. My "cramp buster" was integrated into my grips. I had Kuryakyn ISO Grips with what they called a "throttle boss" on it. Though it took a bit of dial in, once I had the position of the throttle boss correct, it was awesome. Definitely best for long haul trips and took some getting used to for around town but I loved it. I traded my Road King for a Road Glide a couple of years ago and I don't currently have this grip setup on my Road Glide. Instead I put a pair of grips on that match other components on my bike. However, I've been contemplating going back to the ISO grips with the throttle boss. The grips are the best I've used. I'm not totally crazy about how they look but they are the most comfortable grips I've had on any of my bikes. They come in chrome with black cushioned pads or black and black which is what I had (and prefer). There are two sizes of throttle boss. The one in this photo is the larger or the two and is the one I had. I believe Kuryakyn makes another style of this grip, too. You can buy the grips without the throttle boss. To add the throttle boss you take off the end cap, slide the throttle boss on, then replace and tighten up the end cap. You can position it pretty much anywhere you like. I have used one like the one Kenbro is giving away but wasn't keen on it.

My problem appeared to be that for the ‘Thing’ to be of use where needed (Higher throttle openings) it was in the way on and just above tickover, especially with thick gloves on.
    Regards,Ken.
PS. Sandi T’s one held by the end cap looks a much better design.

I found the throttle boss "Thing" to be of most use when I was traveling and doing lots of miles around 60-80mph. I did get used to it being there, though, when I was riding around town and varying speed. It was definitely a bit more touchy when wearing think gloves. Also, and I didn't think of it 'til just now, I suspect it worked better for me than someone with larger hands. I could move my hand in slightly to be a bit away from the thing when needed. As I mentioned previous, too, it did take a bit of dial in to find the sweet spot. Once I had it set up the way I liked it, the Thing just stayed on permanently. When I used the one like you pictured, Kenbro, it could be knocked out of place fairly easily then it was back to the positioning drawing board which I found rather annoying.

Now that I've been writing and thinking about these grips with the Thing, I may well change out my current grips before our next big trip. :)

    Sandi T;
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned hand size.
I’d been thinking a longer grip (Not that I’d want longer grips) would have made things easier.
I also (Before riding) tried it at the inner end of the grip for thumb use...no good either, for me.
Another downside for me...I like to use Grip puppies and Thing wouldn’t fit over one of those.
    Cheers,Ken.

I love mine, I took it off once and went for a 150 mile ride, my fingers went numb as soon as we hit the Motorway, when we went out after putting it back on I had no problems at all, I agree it can be a bit awkward at first in urban area's, but I seem to have gotten used to it.

Having had the cramp buster on my last 3 bikes, It is very useful for long distance, however, I wind it back for local urban use as it can easily be caught when changing hand position or braking.

Please, just let me know when it arrives safely.
Seems to be a few about that buy things from you then don’t acknowledge it’s receipt.
    Cheers,Ken.

So I tried it this morning on the way to work and have to say it’s not for me either!!! Felt I had way less control having it on and stopped after 10mins to take it off. I imagine it would be good on a dual carriageway but I had to ride for 20mins before getting to the dual carriageway which it didn’t work for!

    So...

Anyone else fancy it the same applies, PM me and I’ll post it off to you!

Got another one turned up in post today, it was in with a bunch of other stuff I ordered from USA. Forgotten I’d ordered this one.
This one will fit over Grip Puppies.
Free issue, PM me a receiving address.
    Cheers,Ken.

PS. My Atlas Throttle Lock arrived today, unfortunately there were no friction pads in there that were thin enough for my bike.
Let Rugged Roads know, now awaiting reply.
