Yes defo for a 16 plate!!

£10500 was for a BRAND NEW R 19 plate which was unregistered, which I thought was a good price? There are pre registered ones out there for £9990 with less than 20 miles on. Unfortunately I couldn’t stretch that far so got a 800 mile used 16 plate.

    I h
I haven’t yet. Still riding the twin and wondering if I want to take such a loss on a pretty damn capable bike.

Thank you for posting this! I am in the market myself for a Thruxton R and this thread has made so many great points about both models.

    Hey guys,
if you decide for a used 2016 R take care on the brakes. The older R are known for the issue of a fading Breaking point. Here in Germany this issue made a lot of noise and Trouble for Triumph. The issue came from the front break pump used. With the RS they took the brake pump from the TFC and this should have solved the issue. I never had such issues on my TFC. If you buy a used R and the brake issue is for you relevant, just buy an other brake pump. May be the Magura HC1 and the issue is for 300€ done. If you get a good used R, this might be still a good deal. What ever you do, buy the one you like and have fun. A good used Thruxton is a solid bike, you will have fun for the next 100.000 miles!
    Regards, Wolfgang
