Now I am holding all you lunatics for my awful experience. Talking about ethanol and that. I decided to drain the TSX of fuel and spray the inside of the tank with wd40. Boy I got petrol all over me up my nose in my mouth. Yes I nearly said a bad word but got over it. Plenty of mouth wash and water the bike is empty. But now I find the starter is rattling like its not releasing. Big job I fear and no time to do it yet.
    Regards
    Joe.

Starter bit is a bummer Joe, have never come across one so i'm no help but it can't be a big job. I would pop the cover off n have a look incase you have to get any parts.

On a more serious note, my winter lay up routine for steel tanks was to run them low then add a good glug of 2 stroke oil and shake to coat. The spring Jerry can of fresh fuel with all its additives does all you need to flush things and get started.
    Now? I don’t bother!

I just fill the tank before I lay the bikes up. I do use them during the winter if the weather is dry and not to much salt about. They can stand for weeks at a time though. Never had any problems; yet!

    Darkman.
You know I am toying with putting it in somewhere and spending a grand or so and getting it all set up properly. Looking at the paperwork and bills I have for the bike. It looks like it is coming up for around 5000 miles so probably need a good first service. And I want to use it more next year so don't mind the expenditure. I just don't find the time these days. I know that is a lazy excuse but I just don't want to have bits and pieces sitting around while waiting for spares to come because as sure as anything when you get them a million bits have been lost or misplaced.
    Regards
    Joe.

To late petrol gone. I am going to pop along to Marlow and pick up some leaded from Platts and will pick up some two stroke while there. Thanks for the idea. I have left the carb bottoms of to dry out.
    Regards
    Joe

I will do the same. But just got worried with all the chat here about ethanol even though I use the best petrol and will now try to locate a Esso garage as someone said there petrol is better. But also as Dozer Dad said am I worrying to much.
    Regards
    Joe.

No these things are sent to try us. Like I said to Darkman. I may spend some money on it. They say the sprag and starter can be upgraded.
    Regards
    Joe.
