I was given this by a customer today. Going to give it a try seeing that I don't have to start work until 10 tomorrow morning

After having it chilled in the freezer I've just poured it. I thought it would be really rough like tennents super or carlsberg special brew but it's actually not bad. It has taste to it, I don't think I could drink more than 1 though, I'd start arguing with my reflection and probably lose

I've always wondered why and thought weird that a championship series that is for a North American baseball league is called the "World" Series. But it is what it is. And I believe this was the 115th World Series.

The Origin of the Name 'the World Series'
For many years, it was believed that the name came from the fact that the original series was sponsored by the New York World Telegram newspaper, thus becoming known as the ‘World’s Series’. However, popular as this explanation may be, it’s not actually true and although the newspaper did report the results of the games, it had nothing to do with the naming of the competition.

The real reason behind the name is thanks to Barney Dreyfuss who was the owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1903, he wrote to the owner of the Boston Red Sox challenging them to a ‘World’s Championship Series’. The Pirates were the best team in the National League and the Red Sox were the best in the American League.

The games went ahead and Boston won the series five games to three. Over time, the 'World’s Championship Series' name has been shortened to the World Series and has been played every year apart from 1904 and 1994.:cool:

Why wasn't it played in 1904 and 1994?

Baseball is so hideously boring and the suicide rate figures in those particular years was higher than the norm so they cancelled the World Series so as to limit the collateral damage.

Drinking an Old Milwaukee beer, listening to some CCR music, eating some habanero cheese (kinda lame). Maybe we should include what were listening to while drinking! Next on the playlist some SRV, to blow me away!
