Well that's a great machine. I see your good Lady has more sense than you she's wearing her gloves. Thanks for sharing the picture.

This was one of those rides from the restaurant to the South Coast bike festival of half a kilometer where it was a lot of effort to take my gloves out of the top box, while hers were in her helmet. i concur however!

Cracking bike the 1215 trophy. Had mine for three years a loved it. In the end it was just to much for me to handle, still miss the smooth engine and ride though.

Welcome ! Which part of SA are you from ? We did Cape Town up to George a few years back. Not by bike unfortunately! Have fun on this forum, it will be good to hear your travels! Watch out for the dung beetles ! Never mind the other wild life out there !

We are from Gauteng but we ride all over. We have been to the Eastern Transvaal (eastern Escarpment) 4 times already this year, down to Margate for the South Coast Rally, to Orania for a weekend (1400kms return), Bela bela and more. We are very weary of the beatles and other goggos and ride carefully.

I thoroughly love her. I've managed to crack the trick in taking her skin off and can do that now with my eyes shut. That was the most intimidating bit for long travels and expecting anything can go wrong. We have manufactured a Poly carbonate carrier with laser technology that fits on top of the topbox. There are wonderful luggage cases that can accommodate rain suits and rain shoes for easy access when loaded.

I love her fuel economy and power. I've also after a bit of a battle managed to play the MP3's through the port in the cubby hole directly into our Cardo communication systems without interfering with the GPS, Phone or DMC. Lovely setup.

One thing that I remember is how big the country is . It doesn’t ever look far on a map but it takes forever when on the road ! The weather has turned very Autumnal here now (UK) and I think the bike is now packed away until Spring :worried:.

My wife's niece stays in Theydon Bois in London. We visited 3years ago in December. You didnnt have much bad weather then. Luckily is south Africa it is hardly ever to cold for the bike. Yes distances are fairly vast but I think our friend down under has even larger distances. Lovely scenery and small towns to explore in SA. We wil be doing a very nice trip late November to the eastern Drakensberg. It is a roundtrip of 900km.

it is a week before we travel to the Drakensburg in Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa. It will be a 1000 km round trip. Our rainy season is starting and we all know that the worst of long distance trips is to get hold of your rain suit and boot covers as quickly as possible without having to open and unpack anything else.
So we designed and manufactured a carrier that fits on top of our top boxes. The carriers will be used to accommodate our rain luggage in a position of quick access: on top of the top box in a small weatherproof carry bag.

We manufactured one for the Triumph Trophy and another for the RT1250. Both are made of 6mm Polycarbonate plastic.

    What do you think?
