2010 Se Start Problem Plus No Headlight

Have just bought a 2010 Black SE from Auckland only 23000KMs on it and had it shipped down to Christchurch in South Island
My brother in Auckland had the bike at his place and started it a few times no problem.but was kept outside in Rainy Auckland weather for a couple of weeks under a tarpaulin then day before the shipping he said it wont start and headlights dont come on.
Had it shipped down to mine and it has ariived last night so have had only a brief look at it.
I have removed battery to charge overnight it looks like a reasonable new MoBatt gel one i have also bought a new battery and have fully charged that one but not put it in the bike yet as i am at work.
Before i did remove the battery.it was noted that with the ignition on Headlights are not on but the bikes dash lights up, and rev counter cycles up, fuel pump primes and when starter is pressed slight click from relay under seat but nothing else happens.
No relay click when clutch is out so that proves clutch switch good. All fuses checked and are good.any Ideas i will have another thorough look when i get home tonight Thanks in Advance...
Just seen Camillos thread from about six months back looks like ive got to take the tank off and have a look at the 8 pin connector for damage.. hope this is it cant wait to go for a ride on it

 

All sorted bike now starts and headlights good just followed complete thread from Camilo and was exact same thing so I guess if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck it probably is a duck thanks im off out for a ride,Cheers from NZ
