My rant for today is the horrific brainwashing being perfomed in almost every aspect of our lives these days.

Here is an example, do a Google image search for:

Black couples: results > 99% black couples, no problem.

Asian couples: results > 99% asian couples, no problem.

    White couples: results ???

You can also do the same with Gay couples, and Straight couples... looks like Google is prejudiced against straight white people.

Agreed, but I heard it from a conversation between a black lady and a gay man, so does that make it OK?

Why would you want to do that anyway (the google search thing)?
Hardly "horrific". I can think of far worse things to experience.

Yours, half of a straight white married couple.

Not brainwashing. Google has explained this earlier.

Google’s very own Danny Sullivan, who was tagged in a tweet related to the matter, decided to put rumors to rest by explaining why this happens. Apparently when someone uploads a picture of a white couple they don’t use any racial keywords. Basically, white couples are just described as “couples” whereas images of black couples are usually captioned as such. The only time the word “white” tends to get used when describing the couple is when it is an interracial couple, and since Google’s image search looks for keywords it ends up showing you images of interracial couples when you might be looking for a white one. Searching for a couple shows you mostly white couples, which in and of itself shows a racial bias among the users of the internet rather than Google.

Now since searching for "couples" shows white couples predominantly, Google cannot be considered as biased towards black, hispanic or asians. :)

Thank you @Bonnie1980, you beat me to it. I confess to having been troubled by this conspiracy theory currently doing the rounds (and posted by @MadMrB), and did a bit more digging. There are a couple of responses from google, which by-the-way is not the only one to show this apparent bias - the same searches on DuckDuckGo produce the same results.
Another response from google suggests trying the search 'white teenagers successful' and bingo, lots of white teenagers being successful.

I have been searching for, but failed to find a funny photo I once saw of some muppet having cut a section out of their frame to feed a harness wire...

    It seemed appropriate and relevant.

However. On a positive note I am genuinely in awe that you have the skills to even undertake something like that.

There’s only two wires come from a fuel tank...
1). How full the tank is info wire
2). Don’t let this fuel catch fire wire
But don’t worry if you’ve broken only one wire, if it’s the fuel level sender wire that’s broken, the anti-fire wire should automatically over ride and become the “new” fuel sender wire.
If both wires are broken, you’ll have to estimate your fuel level by mileage... you should at least get 100 miles out of a full tank.

    Good luck

I'm all for progress, but putting up with all this mud on the road is doing my head in, a road sweeper comes round twice a day but only seems to be spreading it out,not picking it up, I can't ride up the street without getting showered in dirt and it's another 16 months before work is completed.

    Duck,

I find that on completion of any project there is usually one or more unnecessary over engineered parts remaining. It’s hard to believe but in as many as 4 in a hundred times the device still works.

I’d not worry overly about a breaking a couple of wires - from the photos it seems they have used many, many more than is strictly necessary.

They can’t all be important can they?!?

my m8 has just replaced his fuel gauge sensor in his 1050 tiger - that fixed the reading issue. Want me to find out where he got it?
