3 Bikes Only -what Would You Have

i think 6 bikes are best a single my 1980 honda cb250rs a twin not my vtr firestorm i would change it for an old Thunderbird a triple the 1993 sprint 900 a 4 i have 1984 cbx 750 honda a 5 cylinder a megola (lotto win)and a 6 probably cbx

I'd only had one bike at a time untill relatively recently. Currently I'm really happy with the two I have.

2007 air cooled Bonneville 790 - What I always imagined a motorcycle to be, IMO gorgeous.

2008 Street Triple 675 - Reminds me that there is still a bit of a hooligan kid inside.

If I were to greatly improve my financial situation, then I'd love to own an old Speed Twin. I could happily garage it in my lounge and just sit and stare at it...one of the most beautiful machines ever made

My "face palm" is for Mrs WideawakeOwl, not for you, SleepyOwl. I completely understand the "need" for three bikes!

 

I already have 3 bikes. I was riding all three up until last year. I would change bikes every week or so and ride a different one. Last year I ran in to some unexpected expenses so I put my 900 Sprint and my 900 Legend away. Been riding around what little I can on my old 2002 America. My health was not so good until a couple of months ago, so I wasn't getting a lot of riding in anyhow. I plan to get the other two back in service this winter and give the America next year off.

Why do I need more than one bike ? I have rude friends that have ask me that very question. Nobody would ask a gun owner why HE needs more than one gun would they ? When a guitarist has 6-8-10 guitars, no body says a thing, do they ? I rest my case. ...J.D.

 

I think id need 4.
I'd have a dirt bike for deep wilderness terrain. Probably a Yamaha TW200.
An then an adventure bike like a Tiger or similar.
Then I'd want a sport/touring bike. Maybe a Yamaha FJR1300.
Then I'd want either a classic British bike or maybe a modern retro classic like my current 2018 T120, or an original 60's Bonnie.

I've got 2 at the moment a FZ1 gen2, & Z750 my winter rebuild project for this year, did have 3 till a couple of months ago but got shut of a immaculate Speed four just couldn't get on with it. On the lookout for a suzuki TLS1000 but a very early full power one, had one years ago always regreted selling it

 

I've been thinking about going from 2 to 1, but now I need 4 (doh!). I forgot about the BSA A10.

BMW R1200S - love the bike. It's a keeper. Although we do occasionally disagree about the best way around a bend.
Tiger 800 - practical, easy to ride all day, handles well. Never argues with me.
Paton (green one) - I'm a fan of Maria Costello - local lass - she does well against the big boys (3rd and 2 x 4th in Classic TT). And I really like the look and sound of her green Paton as she blasts by Cronk y Voddy
BSA A10 - wanted one when I was a kid, and still do.

To be fair, I'm never going to own a Paton, so that's 3 bikes in reality.

 

Hi i have 2 Honda deauville 700 141000km and the bonniville t100. Bit much trying to keep taking themboth out but i like all the faring in the winter and the bonniville in the summer

 

Personally I’d build a bigger garage and bury the person that’s restricting me to 3 bikes underneath it so I could park my several bikes on top of them

 

I don't dislike GS's.. they are just too tall for my short fat hairy legs

I have no issue at all with the weight, i like you only have a 29'' inside leg, which is where i've struggled in the past.
There are 2 guys at work with GS1200's and they are huge things, way too tall for me, and to be honest a lowering kit never even entered my mind. I was looking at an 800 Tiger at work which a visitor turned up on, and it looked strange which turned me off the idea straight away.

I wouldn't mind a ride on a GS to see how they both compare though.

That sounds about right, they are huge great things, Black and Yellow if it makes any difference...

 

I've got 3 and a half bikes (the half is a 1980 XS400 that's been in bits for 2 years). If someone feels the need to ask why I have more than one I usually tell them they wouldn't understand the answer.

 

I would make at least one something stupid, light and dead easy to throw a leg over - a new Honda 125 cub maybe. When I need a workout I'll take the Tiger 1200.
