Just traded in my '05 Suzuki SV650 for a new '18 Street Triple R in matte silver. I owned an '05 Speed Triple some years ago (it died when I hit a buck) and loved it. I went to the Triumph dealership seeking a new Speed Triple a couple days ago...but alas it's like a friggin' unicorn to obtain around this area. Then I saw the Street Triple...and was rather smitten. I'd always considered it to be sort of the inferior little brother to the Speed, and wasn't sure my 6'1" frame would fit comfortably on it. But after a test ride I was hooked. I've never been big on tons of power...I want the low-end pull, torque...giddy up. The Street filled that with its 765cc and incredible nimbleness. So now I own one! My first new bike after 4 used bikes over the years. It's a genuine thrill! I've already removed the rear passenger pegs. The tail tidy kit is on order as are new front turn signals so I can remove the plastic pieces on the front sides. Now...if only there were a way to get rid of the red and black stripes on the tail and front fender...but they seem to be painted on...can anyone advise on this particular issue? Pics coming....the forum says the ones in my phone are too big....=/ EDIT: Had to upload to Instagram so it would downsize the pic and then upload that photo for it to be accepted.
Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new ride. I have 2019 Speed Triple RS, and the stripes are under the clearcoat
I agree, went to dealership on a Saturday to get new tires mounted for my well sorted Penske equiped sv650. One look, and once i set on it, it was a done deal almost, dealer was sky high on total cash for bullshit etc. costs price so i walked out. Next Saturday i got a phone call in the morning telling me due to there 50th anniversary sales event bring cash.i did and kept the sv. They came down $2700 no deals found within a 500 mile radius. Epic rides in CO would be great
Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new steed, you should be able to adjust the pic size below when it's loading, I'm sure a more tech minded member will explain that better than that
Gauntylgrym Welcome to the family. We need a picture of the steed soon to keep us the inmates pacified whilst nursey dishes out the meds. Just tap on the upload a file option here in the bottom right hand corner. Here in the asylum we just can't get enough piccie's Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
Well...I've looked several times now...I don't see any option to adjust the size of a photo. So I guess no pics...because this is 2019 and I'm over using a hosting site in order to puts pics on a forum...lol.
You can downgrade the pictures actually on your phone so they are then able to be put on the site mate
