Started doing an oil and filter change today, in between cloudbursts, first time in ages so it was a bit of an eye opener realising what tools I had misplaced and had to replace. when I took the sump bolt out it dropped out of the socket I was hoping it had missed the old oil receptacle but I couldn't see it anywhere so I knew I was going to have to go trawling the gunky oil . Nowhere to be seen!!! or felt! I looked everywhere, How far could these things roll?? Pulled my hair out, jumped up and down, then thought I might as well carry on and change the oil filter, what did I see stuck to the frame? my magnetic sump bolt!! Hmmm!! Anyway completed it but due to rain was unable to complete plug and rear brake pad replacement. when we moved house my wife demanded plush kitchen, big bedroom flash bathroom landscaped garden, she got the lot. The only thing I wanted was a garage. I was allowed to put up a shed!!
This feels oh so familiar - especially right now. Madam has decided that she needs horse and carriage transport and now's the time to get it - even though she won't be doing any competitions for at least 3 years.
cant you persuade her that an xcx will pull a carriage. then admit you were wrong? when its too late ofcourse
Track day. Snetterton. Took the new girl out to see what she could do. Kept up. Few overtakes. Knee down. All in one piece still. Nuff said!
Oh what a day I have had, more bits to play with, thought I would put some of the old TB back together, but yet again ended up taking more bits off. Now where did I put that manual ..... Oh yes,on a good note, I should be getting my tank , panels and mud Guards back this week, same colour but I have gone for a Bentley blue, much richer will pic it when I get them back.
Reading your day reminded me of an old biker friend who sadly has passed away now, Before I got married he pulled me aside and said to me, when you move to Ireland the best advise I can give you is this. When you go house hunting make sure there's a good shed, don't worry to much about the house she will make sure your on that when you move in. But trust me, when the house is done and you have been married a while you will be spending plenty of time in that shed. And you know, he was right.....
We moved last year, my only must have was a garage, she could choose the rest. Got what I wanted Must be why I married her ....
Hey Robin. What's required for a track day and what's the process. Really want to take the bike on the track but have no idea what's involved or how to go about it. Appreciate any advice.
It's really easy. No Limits is probably the best and maybe cheapest company running them. http://nolimitstrackdays.com/ Look for a track you want to ride and the dates on their events list. Prices are on there too. Either ride to the venue in time for signing on at about 7.30am or do what we do and put them on/in a van which means you're not riding home knackered! There are usually 3 groups to choose from which all run separately in 20 minute slots, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. You choose your group when you book dependant on your riding ability. Food and petrol is nearly always available on site as are instructors for advice, and a tyre and parts van is normally on hand if you need some help with tyre pressures or you've broken something! Normally 4 x 20 minutes sessions per group in the morning and 3 x 20 minutes sessions in the afternoon. That is plenty enough time, it's knackering!!! Noise restrictions apply and MUST be adhered to. If in doubt put the standard cans on or take a baffle insert. All bikes are tested before you go on track. Having said that my Arrow cans were 3dB under the allowed at 99dB (remarkably). You wont be insured on a track unless your policy covers it (doubtful) but you can buy separate premiums but they are expensive and don't cover much of the damage! Basically if you or someone else bends it on track, tough, you knew the risks. Take your reg plate off before you get there as insurance company scouts are abundant on days like these! I think that's it!? It's really good fun and improves your riding and shows that your bike will do a lot more than you thought in a relatively safe environment.
That is a nice paint job and I do like the low exhaust no end! Is it a custom paint or a special edition?

Today I started on the foot pegs and removed the exhausts , I had to make a call on if I should go American and get heat rap for the downpipes or good ol Black paint. The pipes are beyond cleaning up so heads or tails. Tails won. Black paint it is. Heat up the pipes and spray on dead handy let's hope it does exactly what it says on the tin ...800° that's two out of the three. Tomorrow t other side. Still waiting on spares. Come on Ebay! !
