I'd go back to Llanidloes if that's an option. Still a lot more to see in that area and as littleade says - it's right in the middle!

Yep you are correct mate, it is very difficult. Is there anybody with local knowledge in that area on the forum?

The rideouts are the big deal for me - not that I don't enjoy the other bits.

Pandy, Abergavenny, Penderyn, Trecastle, Bluith Wells, Crossgates, Kington, Eardisley, Madley, Hoarwithy, Tintern, Usk, Steel Horse Cafe, Pandy.......that's just a very quick map recce but takes in Brecon Beacons, Welsh hills, Forest of Dean and many, many fat boy breakfast places.
Other routes and locations are available......just pointing out that wherever is selected there will be options for good ride outs otherwise nobody would ride bikes outside designated areas.
If you want you can head east into the Chilterns, Bourton on the Water, Bath, Glastonbury etc. North to Shropshire, Worcestershire South to Bristol Channel way :cool:

Myself and Lisa would like to go somewhere different as well.
We think it will be nice to go somewhere different. As long as we all meet up

Right, knowing that I definitely won't be able to please everyone (or possibly anyone) does anybody want me to make some preliminary enquiries for the Pandy option?:rolleyes:
If they do then rough answers to some basic questions would help ;);)

    1. Are the approximate dates used this year suitable to most or are there better ones out there (should be outside school holidays so easier to book)
    2. Approx numbers for bunkhouse, camping, B&B, hotel. Just in terms of.......if I were to come I would want to stay in ___(?)
    3. How many ride outs would you be looking for? 1, 2, 3? Duration/distance?
    4. 1 ply, 2 ply or 3 ply toilet paper? :cool::cool:

I am away from Sun-Fri so nothing would happen for a week or so anyway..........just putting it out there as an option :scream::scream:

Dates in July next year are:

    Thursday 16th to 19th July
    or
    Thursday 23rd to 26th July

I'm good for either of these date and looking at the quality of the bunkhouse I will be up for staying there. As for ride outs I'm ok with anything on both days.

Good review Ade. I guess it is has possibilities, but it sounds as if it is not suitable for our needs.

Thanks Ade, sounds a bit shite then! :D
I did wonder, looking at Google earth, whether being so remote from anything else might be a problem. Now we know the hotel is closed its sadly not a location for the GMU.

Some place new would be nice, but Llanidloes was ok. Bunkhouse was really nice, but the distance to the hotels was a downside. And I am a bit spoiled with the quiet roads up here, so all that traffic and speed camera's wasn't brilliant but any place south of Bellingham is going to be busy.

If we don't get any place new, Llanidloes is better than nowt.

Just been looking at this place:-
    http://www.kirkbystephenhostel.co.uk/home/
On the northern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, just to the east of the Lake District but not that far south of Bellingham so might not be very popular with peoples from southern parts. Has hotels, B&B's, cafe's & shops though.
