Intercoms And Compatibility

I was on the receiving end of one of these today.

My instructor had a mic, I didn't so couldn't answer back. The range and sound were good and the battery lasted all day. I had the little control unit attached to a belt with an over-the-ear ear piece. I had earplugs in too. He said his unit will connect to his phone and satnav okay too. Looks like good value.

I bought the BT800 intercom system. No wires, all Bluetooth and works a treat. I paid under £60.00 for two and use it mainly for music, google maps and the very odd phone call. When my wife is pillion I will use it to talk to her on our little trips and when riding with my cousin (Rudeboy) we can chat without shouting at each other through the helmets when riding slow or at a stop. These I believe can connect to three Bluetooth devices at once so you might have to reset it to talk to your wife and mate then again for your phone.... I found it perfect for my needs and budget.

I have been using a SENA 20s for the last 2 years. Bike to bike comms are very clear. Phone calls are also good quality. When I use Google maps it lowers the music volume right down and again the sound quality is good.
You can connect to other non Sena devices and the process is very easy however..... if rider A and B are on a Sena and rider C is on A N Other device you are on an open connection to the other SENA device. You have to have the other device on a different channel and only one rider csn connect to the 3rd device. I hope this makes sense

 

I have the packtalk too and they are brilliant. The DMC mesh thing is great and you can still use Bluetooth to connect to other brands.
