Agree there HV. On my Arctic Trip in one of the restaurants I went to where I had a jolly nice burger, it was served on a round wooden bread board. WTF??

Had a nice little taster ride up in the mountains this afternoon. The weather's turned good but at one point we got to 1,972 m and ended up in cloud and it went very cold.
    Did about 120km.

Many moons ago SWMBO and me were exploring the Auvergne. I was a warm and sunny day (mostly) but when we got above 1600m it started to turn quite chilly. Took a while for the penny to drop as to why we were feeling the cold and only twigged it when I noticed the altitude info on the mileposts at the side of the road. Some of the roads had been closed for works and the diversionary route was long and twisty so the increase in altitude went largely unnoticed. Thankfully so was the singing of 'Lost in France' by the two of us.:scream:

I visited a friend not 20 miles east from there a couple years ago - he owns a B&B in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Some excellent riding there!

So, Tues morning is our last full day here so we did some site-seeing, after Toulouse sausage and eggs for breakfast.

Went into the town church, very nice; then a ride out to Chateau de Lordat:

After that, along with a canister of Oxygen we had a very nice lunch - a 13.5€ special, inc wine !!!

Certainly not a day. However, I did spatchcock a chicken and roast it in the oven over potatoes, carrots, red onions, courgette and garlic which turned out to be delicious. We had fresh bread and a lovely smooth red wine with that.

Looks like a terrific trip! The photos are outstanding. :grinning: Thanks for sharing! This trip is sounding like the "Tour de Food & Beverage", though. But there's nothing wrong with that! Our Sunday ride group motto is "Live to Ride--Ride to Eat!" :p:yum

" A canister of Oxygen"??:p Was that an appetizer?

Took this pic below on a MC trip through Colorado a couple of summers ago. This was in a store window in Telluride.
