The thing to me is.. you google your question, and get a list, then you read through the top 10, and realise, none of them have an ending. Its all questions and guessing then it falls off a cliff.
    Very annoying.

I went on Faeces book, and asked a question about a local car alloy wheel refurbishment centre , I got loads of genuine answers and I thanked every single one of them, but the abuse I got from a a lot of aresholes, about a simple question leads me to believe that, if you are above a certain age like most of us on here I would trust you, below that age I would be very sceptical, l just think most, but not all, of the youth of today are morons.

Funny thing is google, Facebook and others probably have harvested enough data to identify these gits. Only they are worried about the criminals privacy and not what crimes their systems and encryption facilitate.

    Tragic and needless........

Being ex military and a former owner of several firearms I am nor exactly an anti.........but........’freedom’?

There is a crucial difference getting lost between ‘free to’ and ‘free from’. Arguing that an AR15 will protect you from overmighty government is delusional. Waco, for all the cult preparations was a wholly unequal contest......

However, the NHS has a similar effect on rational politics here so we had better not get too pious.

Right, that should have riled rednecks and socialists on opposite sides of The Pond!

    No replies required, just venting!!!

I really, really hate having had a wasted day... time just frittered away into fuck all... should have just grasped the nettle and yanked the fucker out, but instead, I’m all polite and say fuck all as people put their priorities in front of mine...

    Done now, I’ll bugger off

Like you, military background and FAC holder. If I felt that giving up my rifles would save a single life I would do it today - but I feel the sad truth is that on the other side of the pond they have the balance wrong between ‘rights’ and ‘responsibilities’ in regards to firearm ownership.

When Dunblane happened i was physically sickened. But the overreaction in reponse to it only hit the law abiding and did absolutely nothing to curb or stem the flow of the illegally held firearms used in crime, and the more I looked into the events leading up to that tragedy, the more failings came to light on the part of the police in the lead up to it. When freedom of information requests were processed and they couldn't hide behind the thirty year ruling as it happened in Scotland, most of the investigatory paperwork had been conveniently destroyed in a flood.

Perhaps someone on the forum from stateside could share their feelings, but I suspect it would only amount to the same disgust about these things as I feel. As i understand it the second amendment gives the right to bear arms as part of a regulated militia, which has been warped into something it was never originally intended to be.

I think we are in step on this. Duckadile is actually wrong on the law. We have a right to shotgun licences - it is for the police to show we are unfit. Part 1 licences require us to show a proper purpose and place to shoot which seems fair enough. I never had the slightest problem.

The aftermath of Dunblane was a political knee jerk which successfully obscured the failure to enforce the previous legislation. The perpetrator had red flags all over him but responsible officials did nothing and he kept his arsenal. But, hey, ban handguns etc. Naturally it had zero effect on illegal gun ownership and crime because your local gunsmith does not stock Skorpion machine pistols etc. And Knives?

It’s enough to make you cynical about politics......

Australia suffered a massacre in 1996. They banned all self loading and automatic rifles (as favoured by your nutters), since then they haven't had anything close to that scale.

If the Aussies can do it, why the hell can't the yanks. Do you really need an assault rifle at home ??? Seriously:expressionless:

If they really want them, then stop whining about mass shouting's. If there out there in the public domain, these things are going to happen. Again and again.

When was the last time criminals went around shouting tens of innocent people? They don't, they generally shoot each other, so let them.

Did you telepathically read the two paragraphs I deleted for being ‘too long’?! I completely agree.

Sporting rifles are not self loaders with fat magazines. When I had a Jagdschein (German hunting licence) there was little restriction on weapon numbers but the maximum rifle magazine size was 3 rounds. Personally I favour licensed secure gun clubs for military small arms so people can enjoy the experience but the weapons never leave the premises.
