Is that right about the Street?. How hard would it have been to do the same on the Speed..? To be fair just a 6th gear indication to show you are in top would help..

The Street's got one because it's a newer engine.
The Speed's engine is over 10 years old now so no provision for one, thought they'd have worked out how to do one though

I recently had the dealer finish the install of my HealTech GIpro. I installed the indicator in the dash myself but needed a pro to do up the wiring. Well worth it in my opinion!...

Just installed the GIpro myself. Piece of cake. Needed a multimeter to find a wire to connect the power piggy back to, but found an easily accessible one with no problems. Setup was easy too. Didn't need a paddock stand, just tootled up the road, going through the gears as it told me to. Took about 1/2 mile. All in, 30 mins from start to finish. My only complaint is that the sticky pad supplied to attach the indicator wasn't particularly sticky. Had to use one of my own. Works as described, would recommend.

Ha. I'm no expert. To be fair, there were only 2 wires under the seat that weren't all wrapped up in the loom so choices were limited. One appeared to be live all the time, the other switched with the key. Happy days

That's good for power, where did you wire up the black/green wire (options are ign coil wire, crankshaft sensor wire, tach signal wire), that's what had me stumped.

Also, how about some pics of your mounted gear indicator display...:)

Ah, so it's all starting to become clear why I found it easier than you. I bought the DS model which just needs power and plugs into the diagnostic port under the seat. Simples...

Looks great! No DS model available for my S3R, because of the ABS I believe...I did the DS on my Ducati Streetfighter, easy, peasy...:)
