The key lock is just an extending cable with the code lock for locking my helmet/ jacket/ gloves to the bike if I want to. The Jack Daniels tin, is a life saver. Well, road side puncture repair kit! I work on the basis that I can plug the tyre and in the modern world, SOMEONE with a pump is likely to be kind enough to stop! And if not, I have two CO2 cans that will get it up enough to ride somewhere that does! If I’m on a long trip I carry a small pump in my luggage.
What is the AIS system? The system "AIS (Air Injection System)" is a system that injects a portion of air "fresh" (taken from the air box) at the outlet of the cylinder head, where it is mixed with the exhaust gases to "dilute" (Decrease of CO / CO2 relative to the volume), and possibly to create a secondary combustion of unburned gases that could come out of the cylinder head. Its only purpose is to allow the bike to pass the anti-pollution standards. Why want to delete it? The system has the main disadvantage of disrupting the "natural" operation of the engine, to generate less progressive decelerations (backfiring, strikes ...), and to increase the temperature at the engine output (which tends to blue the collectors exhaust). In addition to simplifying the engine environment and eliminating these disadvantages, eliminating AIS gives a slight weight gain
Did a trackday yesterday At Donington, the weather was ridiculously hot but had a great day, not one single missed shift!
That’s great. Do you think the fact the bike/oil was fully fully up to temp made it any better? Mine always feels slicker when properly hot. How did the RS compare performance wise to those KTM’s and bikes with more BHP?
It was very hot, so yeah may have helped, it really worked well. My brother has a tuono 1100 and friend has superduke. Depending how you ride it’s no way any slower as the handling, brakes, suspension are brilliant so you can carry a bit more corner speed in total confidence. They never left me down the straights and they were surprised at the speed of it. Hanger straight at Silverstone May cause me more problems against them, but I would probs carry a bit more speed onto the straight so the power would be negated.
That’s sort of what I thought it would be like. Goes to prove you don’t really need more BHP or top end than the RS has.
You certainly don’t, last year at a trackday Michael Rutter was on a speed RS and blitzed everyone! A friend of mine who’s a brilliant fast group rider had trouble keeping with him on a tuono factory
Well mine is all fitted to the bike, but does not work at all. Connects to the PC okay, but the HM software to set it up wont connect to it. Waiting for tech support!!
now connected and working, turns out a 10 year old windows laptop just dont cut it!! It needs quite a bit of setting up but, but the features do work, which is good! I am working with one of the guys at HM on setting the unit up, I will feedback with any info.
Hello All, I have had my RS a few months. I actually got the QS along with the bike, but never had it fitted due to the issues others were suffering from. As an added complication, I am in Singapore and the local support is 'patchy' at best. Anyway, big thanks to James at Fowlers in the UK who helped me source the replacement gear shift linkage with the cut out. For those that need it, the part number is T2085100. I think I might give the QS a go now that I can fit modified linkage at the same time. Will let you know how I get on. David.
I wouldn’t until Triumph releases the fix for the issue, because that linkage arm “DOESN’T FIX THE ISSUE”. I’ve been down that road. I strongly suggest you wait. It only takes a few false neutrals and your gearbox is toast.
