Our dog gets Sainsbury's own brand tinned food mixed with Wagg Worker dried food. She's nearly 13yrs old but acts like she's only 18 months.

Sounds like jack all until you factor in pet insurance, toys, treats, beds etc etc. She is priceless though!

Now, that's something I have been thinking about. If I'm short on funds, the dogs get their food, treats etc, and then we eat.

Why oh WHY do people literally throw their pets away because they "can't afford to keep them". Should be the owners that get thrown away. Grrr.

I would not be without ours. Ever.

Gutted to report that we lost our last Labrador today after a battle with the big "C " ,Celt was just shy of his 14th birthday and was a superstar , he had a huge operation about 10 weeks ago to remove a huge tumor and seemed to be getting better slowly up to about 2 weeks ago when he would struggle to eat or drink and developed really laboured breathing and 3 days ago started to become incontinent , vets visit confirmed the shitty disease had returned and now got hold of his lungs and she confirmed and feared the operation would be too much for him due to age and weakness from last op , so the very hard decision was taken to give him peace this afternoon , fell sick and gutted .
Regular readers of this thread may remember we lost our 2 other labs last year within 6 weeks of each other and contrary to belief it does not get any easier . I'm so sorry Chair1 for your loss. We lost our westie nearly six years ago and me and the wife still say "remeber when Wes did....." so I feel your pain..

So sorry to hear your sad news Chiari and your right it doesn’t get any easier when we loose our loyal friends.
I do the same when I loose any of my dogs, they’re all buried in my garden with a piece of Welsh Slate sticking out of the ground as a head stone.
