My mate likes fords. He says it's "first on race day".

My experience of them is "found on roadside dead".

Ran a Ford Puma for 9 years. I can honestly say, not once in all those years did it break down, not start or any trouble whatsoever. Couple of wheel bearings and abs sensors because of that.
Admittedly it rusted, but never did I need to fix it.
    ST has also been faultless.

Only Ford I ever had to fix was my 105E Anglia:p

My missus had a MK2 Fiesta of that era, ran fine, but it was a piece of shit to drive. Absolutely hateful, underpowered, handled worse than my Anglia

Could not be worse to drive than the MK2 1100 Escort with steering and braking so vague you traveled on a permanent prayer. Whereas the MK2 Mexico was a hoot to drive, what with proper suspension and decent engine.

My first car 1971 Ford Capri 1600 GTXLR in Aubergine. Pai £160.00 for it and wish I still had it now,
I’ve owned loads of Fords, and still do now my fave was a 2003 ST220 Mondeo.
I have a Ford Ranger Wildtrak now and is by far and away the best driving truck I’ve had.

Ford is way better to drive than the reputation thinks

Ever since the first Focus came out, they have been making good cars. That ST170 was a hoot to drive, not as fun as the Puma, so stuck to that.

Had one of the first Mondeo's, 2.0 petrol, 150bhp, that was a flying machine, only chopped it in for the discovery to tow caravan and car trailers.

Agree, but just cos I hate modern German cars with hard ride and silly big tyres. The Vignale was a fine looking motor.

Have to say that the Transit courier built in Turkey is terrible. Wiring issues etc etc. We replaced our fleet with Vauxhall - out of the frying pan........oh joy

The generation now are all VAG group, I just don't get it
The want golfs and Audi A3's ???? Had a golf estate on hire last year, I hated it. Electric handbrake was terrifying, and way too high geared for emissions. Had to keep changing down !!!! Haven't had to do that since the MK2 Fiesta

Perhaps it’s a generation badge snobbery.
Either that or I’m just cheap :p
