I thought it was just me. Seems that there are a lot of us who experience a distinct lack of general appreciation for other road users.
Don't forget the ones who are stopped at a parking area on a duel carriage way who just pull out without looking.
We need to think for every one using the roads these days as they are incapable of doing it for them selves.
Basic problem is that most people don't have a clue how to drive properly.

I suppose the late comedian George Carlin had it right - “anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac” :p:joy::rolleyes:

I find that a lot of drivers these days seem to put the act of driving third or fourth on their list of priorities when in charge of a vehicle, after checking messages, social media posts, make up, eating their breakfast/lunch/dinner etc

I think as motorcyclists we are far more aware of how motorists are driving. And I use the term "driving" loosely. I used to race bicycles and have logged many miles on the road and learned to assume if someone could do something stupid they would. It sort of gave me a "6th sense" for when a driver was about to do something dumb or dangerous (usually both). In reality I think I learned to pick up the slightest oddity or anomaly in a car's movement / driver's behavior and do do my best to get away from that car. Those years as a bicyclist have served me well as a motorcyclist. I still always assume the worse--drivers will do something stupid whether on purpose or because they are oblivious. Of course, that doesn't always ward off accidents--like being rear-ended at a four way stop intersection. :confounded:
