Wait til the staples get tickly and itchy ........

All sounds pretty normal. You are just in the No Man’s Land between the surgery and starting to feel its real benefits. Persevere! The swelling will ease and bending your knee will feel less like folding a sausage! In another week once the stitches/staples are out you will be feeling far more positive.

Hang in there TD, time will be a healer and the physio.

Did they give you any indication of time before your back to normal, then again we’re all different, pain threshold whilst exercising, the healing process etc.

It was 14 days since my opp yesterday and its all starting to free up a bit keeping up with the exercises but still need the pain killers ...but at least sleeping a bit better.......over did it yesterday as i got involved in something in the shed and stood too long...paying for it today.

I am managing without crutches but use them for my walks around the village...still can get quite enough flex/strength to go down stairs as normal but can go up normally...tried the clutch on the car yesterday and think i can manage OK...looking to get back on the bike for a couple of local events early next month.:)

When my knee was bad after my bike accident I kept telling my wife that I was struggling with the clutch on my car just so I could drive her new Auto 340bhp Beemer :joy:

Good news , 14 days in, and starting to feel the difference, in another 2 weeks as the swelling settles down you will be even better.

Four weeks today and things are getting better...got a fair bit of movement back still painful and stiff but better than before so at least i can see/feel some progress...just about weened myself off the pain killers except for the liquid morphine which i still have to take at night in order to sleep just cant get my knee in a position where its not uncomfortable so have to use it to get off to sleep and then its only for two hours at a time...that's the main piss off now....well apart from the itching caused by the morphine.:(:(
Gone back to driving and hope to be on the bike in two weeks time, thanks for all the well wishes and support guys.:)

Yeah visiting physio once a week but its mainly doing all the exercises three times a day...mind you its got me into the habit so i am now adding a few of my old training exercises as well so i will keep going...gave up three years ago because i was getting too much muscle pain...think i may have some fibromyalgia,, its not too bad now the only thing i am putting off is starting pull ups as i think i pulled something last time.
